I know Flagg is supposedly THE prospect everyone is tanking for but my gut says Malauch has the highest ceiling but my personal favorite for our team would be ACE BAILEY.

I just love the DOG in him. We brought some of that in with Shead & Mitchell and more importantly I'm not certain that Scottie really has that fire to be THE guy or at least the lead scorer. I have zero doubts with Ace, there's just something about him that reminds me so much of TMac except again he seems even more aggressive. With his explosiveness, dog like approach & just one a catchy ass name lol he's all but guaranteed to be a star and I mentioned it before we're already seeing Ant move into that "Kobe", "MJ" hype...I think Ace would be like this generation's TMac which of course would be incredible & if you combine that with whatever Scottie is (kinda like a Jokic/Pippen lol offensively) that could be one of the best duos in the entire league and maybe even one of the most popular with just how animated each guy is.

Ace & Scottie would be like VC & TMac for me all over again accept way more faith in this FO to get them to the Promised Land -- how iconic would be if we went back to the purple jerseys too & recreate those pics lol I'm sure both VC & TMac would even tell those guys to stick together longterm, a full circle moment for the 30th anny.

We are drafting Will Riley, it's probably already in the works. Just depends on how for real he is & how high his draft stock rises.

Masai & co. aren't dumb - they know this is the draft to tank for.

Hence, why Masai has clearly stated we're gonna ''REBUILD''.

Darko as well said we're a couple years away.

We're also not making any real effort to improve the roster this off-season. Had a decent bit of cap space and didn't kick tires on anyone of any significance.

We may not enter stealth tank mode next year (because we're too good for that). But what's important is securing a top 10 pick. There's A LOT of talent in this upcoming draft. As long as we win less than 30 games, we should be fine.

Right now we have 3 starting calibre players MAX - getting a fourth starter is more important than a pointless play-in appearance. We can achieve that through a top 10 pick in upcoming draft.

In summary...
2024 draft was about addressing the bench and finding serviceable role players with upside.
2025 draft will be about rounding out the starting rotation.

CBS released an early 2025 mock draft...

The fact that Nolan Traore is ranked outside of the top 10 speaks volumes about the strength of this draft.

Agreed

Scottie could take the leap to superstar/All-NBA, but let’s grab one more just in case.

IQ, RJ, and Gradey are solid young pieces to have around Scottie. We're off to a good start in the "Scottie's team" project. Now we need to another high upside guy for good measure.

Agreed. Just saying IQ/RJ do have all-star upside.

I just hope we can find that high upside guy mid-late lottery this year because idk if we’re bad enough for a top-5. Sucks.

As far as I'm concerned the only solidified spot at this point is PG. Barnes can slot anywhere between the 3-4 so grabbing a PF isn't an issue either.

2/3/4/5 we should be looking at all positions when determining best talent available. Yeah we have a bunch of guards at this point but it shouldn't matter. I wouldn't prioritize an SF too heavily, for example. So much quality talent in this draft.

No, forget it. Let's attach our 2025 first rounder (unprotected) and trade for a middling player. Forget the superstar talent in the 2025 draft. We need to aim for the play-in, get swept by Boston, and break our hands patting ourselves on the back for a successful season.
I acknowledge and thank the lək̓ʷəŋən peoples of the Songhees, Esquimalt and W̱SÁNEĆ First Nations for allowing me to live, work and play on their unceded traditional territories.

Masai and co are going to make sure we have a lottery pick, but I think teams are going to shamelessly tank so bad, that we have no choice but to make the play-in. We won't be top 6, but I'm guessing we will have a hard time being in bottom 5 unless Scottie gets a season ending injury. Hopefully, the draft is so good, 11 or 12 pick still has some really nice talent. The Gradey draft had Gradey, Whitmore and Cason in the 10-14 range, and JJJ was 17th, and I', considering that draft above average. I trust Masai's drafting.

I don't think anyone is saying to draft by need...

Trust me if someone like VJ or Nolan is THE best player available when we pick, I love to draft them. My thing is I like a player like Bailey just as much and if all things are being equal then I'm gonna obviously favor the one at a position of need and not strength (as SG is for us now with RJ, Gradey AND JaKobe).

Now NONE of those guys would prevent me from drafting someone like VJ, if all the other players that I think are in a similar tier to him are gone ie/ Bailey, Flagg, Malauch, then absolutely take him! But I'll favor that group first because if they're comparable talents, their addition will obviously be compounded by addressing a glaring hole or need in the lineup vs just upgrading a position but having the same holes in your line up exist.

The issue that I have is I think the FO needs to really FULLY commit to getting a good lottery pick this season and trade Yak (period), it's the one sure fire to ensure we're not good because all the numbers show that Yak has a HUGE impact on how well our lineups do with him in vs out. While there's no guarantee we're top 5 or so, as long as we do guarantee top 10...I'm VERY confident we'd get at least a foundational piece (if not better). I don't wanna take any chance being outside the top 10 & just praying for the great prospects to fall - luck should never be a part of one's plan. This FO needs to take control of it's own destiny as best as possible and make the necessary sacrifices to ENSURE they got the kind of results they're looking for.

This is just one of the many prospects in the 2025 draft class....This guy would go number 1 overall in most draft classes...But next year could be top 5...This is why we tank for 2025...Far from a 1 or even 2 player draft....Theres 6 solid players i would love to have on the team.

VJ Looking like Wade out there

Yeah he was ranked as one of the top prospects in high school before he had some kind of a gun case involving a girl and a guy? idk the details but his draft stock took a big hit because of it...

But if he has a big year in college he could rise back up to a lottery pick...He had all the NBA stars following him on social media at one point cause of his hooping....Deffo a freak of a player...
