So, if I get this straight, LAC can't sign Miles outright. Would require LAC sending us players we don't need (or necessarily want) or the involvement of a third team. So, we're really in control here - we can just tell LAC to find a third team with a player we want/need or no deal?

It makes more sense to send Norman to a 3rd team that could use him. Maybe some fancy way to send him to Denver as a KCP replacement.

Mann may be useful, but he's expiring so most likely a mid-season trade candidate for a 2nd or something.

I wouldn't mind neither Powell or mann. It'd be incredibly nice to have depth.

The issue is all that depth would be guards.

Melo - Micic - Jackson - KJ
Green - Powell - Mann - NSJ - Bryce

That's 9 guards. 10 if you call Martin a guard.

Our starting PF would be the same height as those guards too (Grant is 6'6).

Which is why a 3-team deal makes more sense. Or at least have other trade chances to turn some of these guards into players who are over 6'8.

Then make trades and figure it out. Mann and Powell are better than Green and any guard on the roster other than Lamelo. Powell can also play a little 3.

Just tired of the drama. I'm more than ready to move on, even a pick would suffice. Although Powell is a bigger Rozier, would be useful to have. Mann is redundant with Green and Tre Mann, we don't need all three. Surely there's a team out there that needs a guard and has too many forwards. Deni would have been perfect

If we get back guys like Mann and Powell, we can always pull a Portland and quickly flip them for assets more suited to our current needs.

At this point I don't really care what the fit is for what we get back for Miles. I just want to be done with this bozo for good.

Here's what (we think) we know:

1) Clippers want Miles Bridges
2) Clippers need help moving cap to meet his price
3) Hornets have discussed Miles to LAC.

I'm curious.

Are the Clippers the only team bidding? I know we hate him, but I find that doubtful.

Seems through process of elimination when you narrow down any market to one buyer, the transaction happens quicker than this.

The Lakers (or someone else) are lurking. The Lakers began their offseason firing their coach, pursuing Hurley behind close doors then getting very publicly rejected by Hurley.

Lakers set their sights on Dejounte Murray but the Pels quickly outbid them. I think there's some pressure there to keep LeBron relevant. Where is their big move given the remaining players on the market?

Would the LA teams who share the same building as crosstown rivals both compete for the same player?

I suspect the Lakers will try to keep Reaves out of any deal (reports claim this). The Clippers might be willing to let go of Mann (after clinging to him through the Harden talks which nearly crumbled).

Does Peterson's old team need any guards from this surplus? They have Cam Johnson.

I'd like to figure out a way to turn Miles into Cam Johnson through Clippers, Lakers or someone less obvious.

We stay properly spaced and balanced.

Micic can go for Nnaji, but maybe that deal hinges on other things. This move turns one of these guards into a forward.

Might sound crazy but how about starting Terance Mann at the four if the trade pushes through? Then trade some combination of our logjam at guard for a bigger 4/5 who can shoot like Kuzma or Portis for match-up insurance/playing 5-out. Our incoming coach just helped win a championship for a team that didn't play anyone taller than 6'8" most of the time.

I honestly kind of like Mann on this team. Hes is somewhat similar to Green and Martin, but the team needs guys like that. Wish he was on a longer deal but hes at least someone this team should be able to get on court value from. Powell is honestly the guy they don't really need.

The Clippers future pick situation is bleak as hell, though. Their next 1st looks like its in 2031 unless they are supposed to be getting something for Paul George. Seems like the Hornets would want picks more than anything.

I'm fine with moving on from Bridges if there's a mutually beneficial trade to be made. But I feel like it's gonna end up a one-sided fleecing and we'll be spending 3 years trying to replace his on-court productivity.
