Curry goes home! GSW/Charlotte

Post#1 » by JustBuzzin » Wed Jul 3, 2024 1:31 am

GSW trades: Curry/Draymond
Charlotte trades: Melo/Bertans(exp)/Micic/Grant/Mann/Dal 1st (27)/Mia 1st (27)

GSW does right by Curry trading him to his preferred destination. For those who don't know Curry was quoted a few years back saying the only team he would consider other than GSW was the Hornets.

GSW gets a piece they can rebuild around in LaMelo Ball. They also get short term contracts and a expiring contract in Bertans. Grant is a poor mans Draymond, Mann is a nice young guard prospect they might want to build with. This allows them to be flexible for future moves. They also get Dallas 1st and Miami 1st both in 2027. Huge picks for a rebuild team.

Charlotte basically goes from bottom feeder to instant contender in a much improved Eastern conference. He brings his buddy Draymond to make the transition much smoother. These guys know how to win add them with this young core of Miller/Mark/Bridges and you have a contender.

Curry/Reggie Jackson/NSJ
Miller/Green
Bridges/Martin
Draymond/Salaun
Mark/Richards

Thoughts?

Like I said in the other Curry/LaMelo thread from earlier today, IF Curry asks for a trade and IF Charlotte is on his list, something like this could have legs.

Until then, there's no offer Charlotte could make that could get us to deal Curry.

Curry has to request a trade, which there is 0 sign of that.

Curry said that he wouldn’t mind it at the end of his career when he’s winding down and not competing.

No disrespect to Charlotte or it’s fans, but it’s not at that point for them or Curry imo

Are we sure it’s not? If it’s not now, it’s definitely next summer.

I doubt he's thinking that way. I bet he looks at LeBron playing at 40 and assumes he'll still be going too at that age. Steph takes really good care of himself.

No disrespect but Charlotte has a better roster to offer Curry than the current Warriors.

No disrespect but Curry would be leaving a team(that he was drafted by and won 4 rings with) trying to make the Play In to a Charlotte team that would be trying to make the Play In. Let’s not pretend like a Curry led Hornet team is in the mix for a title.

Because they’re not

Not even close

Come on now.

This would be a straight box office move for the Hornets and I don’t blame them for doing it

Carmelos better than durant, Lance stephensons better than harden, Wade, Wall, Derozan, Parker, Westbrick and i prefer antetokoumpo over Griffin, bosh and dirk but its debatable

The East is top heavy. Like 4 good teams vs the loaded West who has a legit 10 deep playoff caliber rosters. The Lakers have LeBron and AD yet they are considered a play in team.

Curry/Draymond in a package deal with our young talent Miller/Bridges/Mark would definitely make the playoffs likely a top 6 team in the East.

You sho bout that? You got an older Curry and a Demotivated Draymond playing in the East dominated by the Celts, Bucks and Knicks? I don’t know. As an overall basketball fan I wouldn’t be mad watching this play out. I just don’t personally think that team would be successful

You have Brandon Miller, a solid big in Williams and LaMelo -one of whom would be in the trade-and……..what?

Miller is a better Young version of Klay. Many people don't know this kid has serious potential because he was overshadowed by Wemby/Chet. Miller was a 17ppg guy as a rookie. He's only getting better.

Bridges is better than Kuminga.

Mark is a double/double threat if healthy.

Add Curry/Draymond to that mix and we have a solid playoff roster.

Agree to disagree on Bridges (who you don’t have yet and the Clippers seem poised to have a say on it) and JK.

You’re not over the Celts, Sixers, Knicks, Bucks, Cavs, healthy Heat, Pacers and we’ll see what the Magic’s final form is after free agency. It’s a play-in team by default because the rest of the East has given up. Steph and Dray ain’t leaving for that and it don’t make the Hornets better cause they don’t play in the tougher West imo
