How often do you find a team paying their guy almost max money contract just to sit and heal for 2 and 1/2 years? That's the loyalty Klay got on his last contract.

He helped them win one more championship and 4 total championships. He has made the team way more money than they paid him. Also Kawhi has been on different teams in similar situations. There's plenty of players who were paid while injured. Its part of the NBA contracts

They are worse now and will likely not make the playoffs once again. I would think Steph will demand a trade down the line.
