Happy Final Independence Day

Post#1 » by HarthorneWingo » Thu Jul 4, 2024 8:59 am

Just want to wish everyone a possible Final Independence Day as our democratic institutions crumble to the ground.

Please vote come this November if you want Wingo to stay in the U.S. :D

Maybe we can start our own community somewhere?

Agree 100%. Moreover, where is the concern for our veterans who returned from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars with PTSD? It’s nonstop fireworks from Memorial Day through September every summer.

Yep, I can only imagine how bad those loud noises impact vets with bad PTSD. It sucks.

Last year of Democracy. Gotta make my vote count.

I've seen a few drone shows online too that looked less invasive than fireworks that were very cool. That technology is getting better every day.

There’s never been true democracy here for some of us, so doesn’t make much difference to me how this election pans out.

Anyway, happy 4th of July (aka Independence Day for European American men) …while Black Americans remained slaves and European American women remained oppressed.

I’ve been to two drone shows this year and they were both AMAZING!

Better for the environment than fireworks, and more creative possibilities too (spelling out words and arranging in picturesque forms).

And less of a traumatic experience for veterans, children, and pets.

I think we're all under no false pretense regarding this thread and the stuff that has been happening the last few weeks. I'll leave the politics out and I'll just say this: I love this country, flaws and all, and our melting pot of different cultures and ethnicities.

Let's work to keep it that way. America is for all, and anyone who wants to call this place home and build a better life of their families, like my own parents have done, should be allowed the opportunity to become part of our large, often dysfunctional family if they want to.

What's everyone eating and drinking on today?
