He hasn’t logged on since Game 4 of the Finals which tells me everything I need to know.

Dude would rather be right than winning a championship & just admitting he was wrong about Joe.

I saw it again today for maybe the 5th time, Joe acting a fool out there at the parade on a torn meniscus. I cried yet again! He opened up a lot this season and just burst wide during the parade! Never seen the guy that emotional, not even when we got the trophy (a little glimpse when he raised it)!

What made me really love Joe is all the interviews he’s done after and a lot of the little snippets of the players talking about him during the finals. I could watch hours long tape of Joe talking, he’s crazy, but I love every bit of it! Lucky wife!

All season before we won it all I turned into a Joe fan, he really was much better with the media this season. It’s just love after everything since the parade, he’s really a cool dude!

S/N: the only thing that gets me, looking at his eyes, he has the look of a killer. Thank God he put his talents in basketball. I wanna laugh here but the man is kinda crazy for real.

I spoke with Shammgod for a profile I wrote about Mazzulla after he was named interim coach in place of Ime Udoka in 2002. Looking back at that interview, there were some real hints about Mazzulla’s unorthodox approach that is built on intensity, compassion and a relentless work ethic.

Shammgod said he had never seen someone work as hard as Mazzulla does, and he called him the most detail-oriented person he had ever met. He said Mazzulla watched so much game film that Shammgod and the other assistants began to have concerns about his mental health. So they convinced him to sit down with them after long days of work and watch an hour of regular television.

“Wins and losses are big to Joe,” Shammgod said then, “but the biggest thing for him is he wants to be so prepared. He doesn’t ever want to lose because a team worked harder or their preparation was better.”

I don't log in here much at all. I think I was here like three times in the regular season? Mostly to respond to callouts like this one? It's a bad board with people who can't keep things to basketball.

Happy about the championship. We've had a lot of bad luck over the years and it went the other way for us this time. We didn't play anyone. Literally no one. At least we didn't lose to no one again, like we did last season when Jaylen got bodybagged by scrubs.

Speaking of getting bodybagged, that is what I did to you last season. And obviously what happened with Sweet Serenity on whatever his previous handle was lol. Why would I celebrate a championship with people like you?

I can confirm that Cave has talked plenty of Celtics basketball elsewhere.

That said, he's no more persuasive when harping on the "general talent plus injury luck" theme there than he is here. ;)

Again with the superiority complex ..

You’ve had this whole time to come one here to say you were wrong on a lot of stuff but instead all we get is some “yeah but” as well as teenage insults to another board member.

Bringing up last season instead of giving credit to Jaylen for the improvements he made this season & congratulating him for winning Finals MVP.

Insulting Joe’s intelligence all year only for him to become the youngest coach since 1970 to win a championship.

You can do what most of the GB has done since we won the chip & lazily harp on about how easy our path was instead of understanding how dominant we were this season & realising it didn’t matter who we played, we were always going to win this year.

This is why I said you’re a narcissist. Act like you’re smarter than everyone & just can’t accept you were wrong.

Who would have thought head coaching was a bit more complex than calling timeouts when the opposition goes on a scoring run!

I love the way he sticks to a plan and backs his players. Not a bad effort for a second year HC.

Tatum joked that coach Joe Mazzulla was already talking about next season when Tatum was in the facility to ink his extension last week.

“Joe was already trying to draw up s--- for next season and I was like, ‘Joe, f--- that. We just won the championship. Like enjoy it. Relax. I’m not worried about any sets that you’re trying to put in right now.’ We had a good laugh about it.”

TIL Joe's dad was also a basketball coach (Johnston HS - girls) in Rhode Island. Passed away in 2020.

I was impressed the way Joe got the vets to buy in and stay focused all season but if Joe can integrate these young guys into the lineup the same way Spoelstra and Kerr do I will be overly impressed.
