What can this Miami package land?
Up for grabs in this hypothetical scenario is Tyler Herro, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Nikola Jovic, Kel'el Ware, and an unprotected 29/30 first round pick. We are looking for a new star to go alongside Jimmy and Bam.
I just want to see what people think this package is worth. I know opinions vary greatly on Herro, but I'm really wondering how much positive value he has in combination with all those kids.
Looking forward to some fun suggestions.

I don't know that I'd give up Jaquez for Garland. It's interesting but I'm not particularly high on Garland, personally.
It would give us an interesting lineup though:
Pg: Garland / Rozier
Sg: Robinson / Richardson
Sf: Butler / Burks
Pf: Jovic / Love
Cc: Bam / Ware

huh. 1 guy rookie, 11/4/3, 32% from 3
1 guy, 4 years 17 ppg, 2 years 21+ ppg. career 38% from 3.
think the only factor that makes anyone hesitate is the monster contract for Garland. I think all these max deal type 2nd contracts for all these rookies always seem to come back to bite teams in the rear. I include Herro's deal that he got way too early too.

Detroit doesn’t have the star for a trade (no, you’re not getting Cade), but could certainly help facilitate with their cap space in a three way. Jovic, Duncan Robinson, Jaquez and the FRP are all assets the Pistons would likely be interested in.

Listen, Garland is a very nice player, but he makes more than Herro and his stats are too similar, right down to the 38% three point shooting

You are better off removing Hero, who is a negative value player, if you want a max return.

He's a much better passer/playmaker and prior yrs were more efficient

We could do something centered around Robinson, I would imaginetheBigLip wrote:Detroit doesn’t have the star for a trade (no, you’re not getting Cade), but could certainly help facilitate with their cap space in a three way. Obviously, you have the right to your opinion. I disagree. But go ahead and swap out Robinson for the right deal.LarsV8 wrote:You are better off removing Hero, who is a negative value player, if you want a max return.

Tyler is a better scorer and rebounder. At any rate, I'm not enamored of Garland. I can't see the point in trading for him.Godaddycurse wrote:BBallFreak wrote:tiderulz wrote:huh. 1 guy rookie, 11/4/3, 32% from 3

Re: What can this Miami package land?
I feel like Miami fans are going to be disappointed with the answers here.
I don't think this package has enough value to beat GSW or SAS for Lauri, and definitely not enough to pry away a star who isn't asking out. So you're probably shopping in the Garland/Ingram tier of guys.

I’m surprised there hasn’t been more chatter around that. Pistons need shooters in the worst way. Heat need some cap space to maneuver. Seems like good trading partners.
Trading is a lot more nuanced w the new CBA. It makes sense that these deals will take longer to put together. I’m expecting Detroit to be involved in a lot of these deals this summer.

I said nothing about Lauri. When it comes to Danny Ainge... Caveat emptor. I don't believe in paying for Ainge's ego.
I'm not interested in Garland, personally, though other Heat fans may be. I don't really see the fit with Ingram.
I'm hoping for some new and creative ideas.

I would think you're right but I'm guessing Miami isn't willing to pay to move Robinson. I'm sure we see what he brings and would treat him like an asset.theBigLip wrote:BBallFreak wrote:We could do something centered around Robinson, I would imaginetheBigLip wrote:Detroit doesn’t have the star for a trade (no, you’re not getting Cade), but could certainly help facilitate with their cap space in a three way. Re: What can this Miami package land?
In a sane world, that's probably an okay package for a borderline All-Star. In today's massively inflated market, that will get a good but not elite role-player. I've never understood why Jovic gets put up like he's an asset. He seems pretty meh. Jaquez is an interesting player and should count as a first-round pick. That pick is okay, especially in 2030, as the even-numbered picks aren't circulating on the market yet. But I don't see the Heat getting in the door without finding a taker for Butler who can provide some value.

This is just about the players stated and perhaps Duncan Robinson.
I'm not asking if this package is worth what Bridges fetched from New York, I'm asking what this package can fetch. Massive difference.

I told you what I believe it could get in the second sentence.

Then I said that I don't believe Miami can be competitive in a star trade unless they trade Butler.
There's a massive difference in me not answering the question and me answering it and then giving a few more thoughts.
