To not be a part of a rebuild that is going to take 3 years.

LA's rebuild might take longer. They haven't even started yet.

Kuz for picks Lakers picks 5 and 7 years from now? I'd take it, at this point, just to be done with the 'will they or won't they' dance. Crazy that the guy we'd be trading for is right now in like fifth grade. Still a fan of paw patrol or whatever.

Who's Bronnie?
Oh wait a minute....

So you think Bronny is going to start? Over Kuzma at the 3? :)

As long as Lebron is there, they are chasing a title, so that is at minimum 2 years.

I'm really confused with the new rules. If they are in the second apron can they even trade for kuzma ? Does not arrogating salary mean what it means for recently traded players. Like you can trade out out a guy into another team but not with another player to the same team? I'm not opposed to a Kuz to LA but I would prefer to get something other than a couple unprotected out the way pics. They also have the draft rights to have king who showed improvement in the d league and is 22. But we'll see.

Seeing GSW signing lots of perimeter players to replace Klay has me wondering if they'd be interested in Kuzma to play PF for them? Something like Wiggins+GPII+2FR for Kuzma? My guess is that's more palatable than giving up more picks and Kuminga for Markkanen from Utah.

Green/Jackson-Davis
Kuzma/Anderson
Kuminga/Anderson
Podz/Hield
Curry/Melton

We could try to rehab Wiggins value and see if we can move him next year as an expiring, or try to save some cash in a buyout. GPII is already expiring and could be fodder in a deal that gets us more picks. Thoughts?

Yep. Why not. We should be in the business of acquiring as much draft capital as possible.

Right now there are 19 players on the team:

10 are guaranteed
Poole, Kuzma, Brogdon, Holmes, Bagley, Valanciuna, Coulibaly, Kispert, Davis, PBJ.

3 were just picked
Sarr, Bub, George.

3 have team Options:
Butler, Omoruyi, Shamet

2 are on 2-way contracts
Champagnie, Vukcevic

1 guy, Jones, is in never never land.

I'm pretty sure Vukcevic is intended to be on the regular roster by the time the season begins or soon thereafter. I.e. I think he was moved from regular roster to 2-way as a temporary business arrangement, making it easier for Will to juggle roster spots in the off season.

Thus the 10 guarantees, 3 just-picked rookies, & Vukcevic will take the roster to 14, 1 short of the regulation 15.

Of the 3 guys with team options, common sense tells me Butler is likely to be the one in whom they have the most interest. If they pick up his option, that's a full roster.

Is that where it stops? Doesn't seem likely.

1. With Valanciunas on the team & Vuk back on a regular contract, you would expect that at least one of Holmes or Bagley might well be on the block. Maybe both -- esp. if they slot Sarr at Center.

2. They've already tried to move Kuzma, so we know he is available.

3. The tweet linked above indicates that Kispert is also available, along with Jones of course.

4. One would imagine that Brogdon is immediately available.

Will all six of Holmes, Bagley, Kuzma, Kispert, Jones, & Brogdon be gone by the time the regular season begins?

I've looked around at team salaries, and the only realistic Brogdon trade I can come up with is Brodgon to Miami for Duncan Robinson or Terry Rozier plus incentive. Problem is, they don't really have much incentive. I don't see them trading a FRP (the next unencumbered one they have is 2030) for a 6-month rental; and the next SRP they have is in 2031. Maybe they give up Jovic, but I doubt it.

Brogdon to ATL to replace Murray makes sense if capella goes to a third team.

I'd rather he be traded for something good, but I'm mostly fine with Brogdon starting the season with the team. Hopefully they have more luck moving him at the deadline than they did with Tyus last year.

Need to not resign Tyus, though, if this happens. Book the lack of a trade at the deadline as a loss and move on. Signing him on a one year deal doesn't sound great.

Also need Kuz to be traded. Sixers, Warriors, Lakers, Clips, Kings - one of these teams can use this dude. All Cali teams except for Philly, so that should make Kuz and his pink sweater happy.

I wonder who will be the salary filler in the trade- the small possibility of it being Rui would be funny.
