I was one of the rare people who loved it from the jump. However, it does take a long time to get going. Not just the Prologue, but all of Act 1 too.

To me the game becomes really special in Act 2, when you're doing a main mission for Judy and eventually getting out of town to go meet Panam. Or when you're doing an assassination mission for Takemura back in town that has you stalking the city's skyscrapers. The Voodoo boys questline is also very fun.

I never finished the Night City expansion, but that's on me because I thought it was really well done too. Idris plays a great character, and the whole thing is a like a 90s era spy thriller.

But yea, it's a bummer that the game takes so long to get to the good stuff.

ETA: Also, I found that the optional Gigs were also generally very worth while. I ignored them on my first play through, but on my second I cleared them all once the map opened up. There's dozens and they're great for when you just want to chill out with some usually interesting tasks.

Agree w/ all of this, and I really love CP2077.

Yeah Cyberpunk was tough for me to get into initially because of the really long intro mission which is veeery linear/narrative heavy. Once they hand you the keys to the open world it’s so much better, especially with all the updates they’ve made to the skill tree and what not.

I now love it and I’ve dumped probably 120+ hours into it but I recognize it’s probably not for everyone. If you go in expecting the level of interactivity/detailed NPCs like RDR2 or something, you’re gonna be disappointed. It doesn’t have the intricate RPG elements of like The Witcher 3 or earlier Fallout/Elder Scrolls games. It’s more a giant collection of linear missions/side quests within a gigantic map, which is still fun imo, once you accept it for what it is. They’re all pretty well done, well written. Fun gameplay, really cool weapon variety and perks, lotta hilariously OP builds you can put together that make you feel like futuristic John Wick on steroids lol.

It’s legitimately one of the most visually stunning games I’ve ever played too, Night City is insane. With settings cranked up, no other game in recent memory has made me stop as many times to just admire the level of detail/graphics and go “what the **** lol”.

Hail mary this late in the day, but any recommendations for couch co-op games? Either PS or Xbox.

Age of Wonders 4 is on- what I think is -it's 4th expansion already. Still a great game.

I'm glad I Youtube'd how to have multiple saves playing TotK. Got my Switch back today and was totally lost when I fired it up after not playing for a year. Wanted to start fresh but didn't want to delete my old save with dozens or more hours.

Thankfully it looks like you just have create a new system user.

Speaking of the Switch, is Homebrewing on it a thing? I went a year without playing it and outside of TotK there isn't really anything on it I'd miss if I bricked the system. But if it's hackable that could be a fun project. I did that with my 3DS and it worked great.

Ok, you guys were right. I am not sure I'll go the distance with Cyberpunk, but Act 2 is indeed significantly better. And I did get a sniper rifle, but I also got, upgraded, and modded a great pistol I've used for stealth and mid-range combat instead. Paired with some mild netrunning and it's finally feeling like I can play my way.

Still not exactly what I expected the game to be, however. I thought this was all about choice and consequence and I'm just not feeling much of that yet. But maybe I'm still too early.

There is definitely more choice and consequence as you get into it, some of which is quite significant, some more minor. It’s not like that Detroit: Become Human game or anything, but it’s definitely there.

I can't think of any worse way to show off the new gameplay than two streamers but I get it. The younger generations love streamers. But the gameplay looks great. Very little to nitpick so far and with what they've showed of dynasty I'm all in.

Unrelated, but I have a few friends at Logitech that hooked me up with the G502 X Plus mouse, Astro A50X, Pro X TXL Lightspeed keyboard with tactile buttons (along with a whole bunch of other stuff) and my god, I was such an idiot for buying Razer products when I went all out 5 years ago. These are just so much better. Only gripe is they sent me white...

Read on Twitter

First, you don’t have the depth of build-crafting you do in FromSoft games – progression is instead limited to a couple of basic skill trees that allow you to amplify the damage you can do in each of your three main combat disciplines (which can be divined into striking, poking, and ‘hopping’ if you want to boil them down to their simplest functions).

Next, the story. It’s much more ‘what you see is what you get’ here, none of that text-based lore-diving you need to do in the item descriptions, a la Elden Ring or Bloodborne. Wukong is heavily based on the Chinese novel, Journey to the West, and we follow the eponymous Sun Wukong as he battles tonnes of bosses inspired by the 16thC text (if you’ve got even a passing familiarity with either Enslaved: Odyssey to the West or Dragon Ball, a lot of this will be obvious).

Finally, there’s game difficulty: the developer is intentionally making it a bit more accessible than the Souls games, giving you the power to transform into deadly mytholgocial beasts in order to help you batter the bosses. There’s no difficulty select, but in my hands on, shape-shifting into a blazing tiger definitely trivialised some of the harder encounters – something the developer told me it wants players to do if they end up slamming their head against an encounter for more than a few attempts.

Theres a giant rabbit hole of mouse and key options. Like endlessly deep. I think I have like 6 keyboards right now and two of them i built myself.

Okay, next year's edition needs to be made by fewer dorks.

Academics play a crucial role in your life as a student-athlete, impacting both your eligibility and overall success. Academics are divided into two key components: test readiness and GPA.

Test Readiness: Each week, by spending time on academics, you will be studying, which will improve your test readiness. This is essential for performing well on midterm exams. If your test readiness is low, your likelihood of failing a midterm is increased.

GPA: Your GPA is a reflection of your academic performance and is influenced by the results of your exams and quizzes.

Every week, you have the opportunity to allocate some of your energy towards studying, which will boost your test readiness. How prepared you are is represented by the bar at the top of the panel. The pane also shows how long you have until your next midterm exam is, allowing you to plan your study schedule accordingly. Midterms occur on Week 8 and Week 15 of the regular season. The higher your test readiness, the better you will perform on these exams.

Your performance on midterm exams will directly affect your GPA. A high test readiness will result in better exam scores, positively impacting your GPA. Conversely, if you do poorly on the exams, your GPA will take a significant hit. Maintaining a minimum GPA of 2.0 is essential to your eligibility to play in games. If your GPA falls below this threshold, you will be ineligible to play and will be required to attend mandatory study hall sessions to improve your GPA. These study hall sessions will consume a portion of your energy each week until your GPA is back up.

RtG doesn’t interest me as much as other modes but I’ll play a bit. Disappointing they limited the positions but whatever. Weird they didn’t do a video for this gameplay review.
