Summer League 2024, Multi-Game Thread – Celtics finish 2-3, in Vegas

Davison/
Springer/Harper Jr
Scheierman/Enaruna/Demona
Walsh/Peterson/Watson/
Queta (maybe)

Kind of rough with the positions as most of the team seems like a 2 or a 3 to me outside of Davison, Watson and Queta.

Who did I forget?

I don't expect Queta to play much, if he plays at all. Can't afford an injury to one of the players signed to cover an existing injured player.

Look for other Maine player to be given a chance like:

James Banks (PF/C)

Queta needs to play for his development. If not here, somewhere else over the summer that probably wouldn't be any safer.

Counting the guy who's out injured, he's also currently the 5th center on their roster.

I expect Davison to be out of the league soon and his Championship Ring will pop up on Pawn Stars in the next few years.

Didn’t realize Ron Harper Jr blew out a shoulder in his second G league season and missed a bunch of last year.

That actually makes sense as a starting lineup, the top 5. I played around with a couple versions but the group that has experience makes the most sense.

Then rotate in pairs of new bench guys into the more experienced group, just like the big club.

That actually makes sense as a starting lineup, the top 5. I played around with a couple versions but the group that has experience makes the most sense.

Then rotate in pairs of new bench guys into the more experienced group, just like the big club.

I think you're right that the C's will likely to defer to the 5 players who have already been in their system to start.

But as to experience, Walsh, Davison and Springer are the 3 youngest players on that roster.

Oh damn. Based only on this thread’s title and me not paying attention, I was hyped that today might be GAME DAY! But of course it’s not. Summer Celtics don’t even exist yet — roster not announced, haven’t gathered, haven’t practiced. And: they’re only playing in Vegas.

Okay fine so I’ll do yard work all day (that is what I call watching highlights of Ron Harper Jr and Whoever Demonia:)

Harper Jr. is a fun player too. Knows how to use his bulk. Thankful to Bows for finding and posting the Demonia video. If this team moves the ball well, we should get some highlight plays. Fun fact: Harper and Demonia both have arm lengths of 7'1.25".

I'm thinking they add another 5 and a PG. Very pumped Queta seems will be with the team at least to start the tourney and Watson figures to get some small ball 5 play, but another 9'+ standing reach-er would seem a given. And while I think Springer may be designated PG when Davison sits, they should add someone else if they need to abort. Scheierman and Peterson (and Harper to a lesser extent) help take pressure off, but still.
