I think Andre is basically the only hope we have for a guy that can be that starting-2 guard currently on the roster, but I'm done getting gaslit every offseason with the hype and soundbites from teammates/coaches and junk. We've done plenty to address the "youth and athleticism" concerns, but show me something on the court first.

There have been two rookies the Bucks have drafted in recent memory that jumped off the page for me from Day 1 as dudes who would stick in the league as, at the very least, valuable role players: Donte and AJax.

The only question is whether they'll end up making it here or elsewhere.

A reminder that the corpse of PJ Tucker was the 5th starter on our championship team. We don’t need 5 all-stars in the starting lineup and even if we could, it would be unlikely to work out. You need people willing to sacrifice their game and do the dirty work around star players. In theory AJax is perfect for that role. Needs a bit more seasoning and opportunity but I like the fit. We’ll see if doc is willing to go there or sticks with the veteran option in Pat (or more spacing with Green). Also, we have 8 proven veteran players now. If even one of the youngins steps up and becomes a solid rotation player we’re set for the playoffs (assuming health of course). Given that, I like the upside play in the draft. They don’t have to contribute now (and probably wouldn’t be given the opportunity where they were drafted anyway). Best to take the players we think will end up being the best instead of some shortsighted compromise.

I thought AJax was pretty bad last year. He brings energy, but he was lost out there. If he’s not going to put the ball up, he cannot be on the floor. For all the talk about his defense he was caught chasing his guy from behind far too often.

People forget Nwora was good his rookie year as well. Every time he got big minutes he was lighting it up.

Was pretty apparent from the start he was full on Jabari though.

Great post. This years draft is for the future.

Let's see how are min vet signings do, I think they'll fit well. We're still a top 5 talent level team. We spanked all of the serious contenders when healthy last year. We just need some soldiers to mesh in with our stars and eat up regular season minutes.

We're aggregating here, which we can't do unless we're below the 2nd apron after the deal, which we aren't.

2nd problem is, do you think Portland is looking to add a 36 year old center to their roster that includes Clingan and Ayton?

Find a 3rd team for Brook, and add Bobby to the deal, likely to a 4th team.

When deals start going official today we'll see tons of multi team deals.

Can’t discredit Pj Tucker as a corpse in the 2021 post season, that’s just not accurate. I agree with the rest of it tho.

I agree with most of this, but Ryan Dunn will have more positive impact this year than Prince. AJJ2 has upside, I just hope he's still on our team if/when he realizes it.

That’s a wild take. Tucker was locked in, played a large role and brought playoff intensity to the team. If you’re looking for raw stats to justify he wasn’t an important piece of the puzzle, we can just agree to disagree. It’s kinda funny because we’ve been chasing the purple dragon these last few off seasons now looking at replacing what we lost in Pj Tuckers championship role. How washed could’ve he really been in 2021 if the 2025 season is here and we’re still searching?

Patty C was better. We're only chasing being healthy. Was PJs intangible that he's also a doctor or trainer?

I think Horst can net a future 1st and rotational player on a neutral or slightly negative deal for Brook. Then move Pat C and the future 1st for a starting SG.

Windy’s pod today says Hawks don’t want Ingram and Pelicans plan to use him to get a center somehow.

There are cap gymnastics to work out too with DeJounte’s trade kicker (biggest in league) and luxury tax. Possible New Orleans sends JV to Washington as a sign and trade to get a trade exception to facilitate.

They also talk about how Missi might be their long term starting center but not this season.

Stands to reason Brook could be the bridge. And then cap relief before Trey Murphy gets extended.

How desperate are the Pelicans? Brook, Bobby, and Pat for Ingram, and then we shop Ingram? It's legal, as it gets us below the 2nd apron.

I think Igram should be worth the standard 3- 1sts and a player deal, but no one seems to have stepped up. Is it because the Pelicans are asking for players instead of picks? David Griffin just isn't dynamic enough to work it into a multi team deal, with the picks being rerouted? Believable, maybe. He's never impressed me.
