CHI - NOP - MIL - UTA - UTA becomes a buyer

Post#1 » by aguiar95 » Thu Jul 4, 2024 11:16 pm

CHI in: Collins, Hawkins
CHI out: Lavine

Why? Clear some cap and get a prospect to rebuild this squad and start from scratch.

Giddey/White/Williams/Collins/Vucevic
Dosunmo/Hawkins/Buzelis/Craig/Smith

NOP in: Sexton, Lopez, best of '25 MIN 1st/'25 CLE 1st
NOP out: Ingram, Hawkins

Why? Sell Ingram for depth pieces (that actually fit great) and get another pick in the '25 draft.

Murray/McCollum/Jones/Williamson/Lopez
Alvarado/ Sexton/Murphy/JRE/Missi

MIL out: Lopez
MIL in: Clarkson, Kessler

Why? Move on from Lopez for cheaper pieces (that also fit), gain flexibility to revamp the squad.

Lillard/Connaughton/Middleton/Antetokounmpo/Kessler
Wright/Clarkson/Prince/Portis/vet min

UTA in: Ingram, Lavine
UTA out: Collins, Sexton, Clarkson, Kessler, best of '25 MIN 1st/'25 CLE 1st

Why? Buy low on Ingram/Lavine and revamp their value by TDL

George/Lavine/Ingram/Markkanen/Eubanks
Collier/Sensabaugh/Williams/Hendricks/vet. min

Bulls don't even hesitate to do this
Everybody else will be witching about how they are getting too much but it's not so. Collins starts, don't know how much Hawkins plays, he's equal to a last year's FRP which he was they get two gains in finally a tall starting PF and some cap space savings

UT seems to be getting potentially a big haul, if BI and ZL stay healthy I really don't think they should giving up picks if they're giving up 3 starters

I think Utah will want more back in this, honestly. However, I do kind of like the overall trade, it seems to get teams on the right track, props for the multi team effort that works in my opinion. Chicago is outright yes, but each other team could dictate some more picks back their way for various reasons.

One thing I notice is that Kessler to MIL might be a target that NOLA wants, so it's possible they'd try to cut the Bucks out of this deal somehow.
Cheers

Utah would be a really fun team to watch! And if it works, Ainge could trade Lavine, Ingram and Lauri and own ALL the picks from 2025 draft. I can already see the achievment prompt on his phone: "Gotta catch 'em all!".

I'd call Collins and Clarkson about even for LaVine, and Sexton + 2 1sts + Kessler for Ingram as way too much. We wouldn't be a playoff team afterward, and we'd be locked into paying two guys who are somewhere in the range of the 50th and 70th best players in the league 40 million a year. Would rather trade Lauri for picks or tank with him on the roster than throw assets away chasing mediocrity.

Utah is sending only one 1st. I dont think the trade is about make the playoffs, but Ainge buying low 2 talented guys, beting on recoup their value and trade them for more picks on deadline(or even RE Ingram and trade him next FA).

I personally think Utah should go the tank route, but I dont see Ainge blowing up the team, selling your guys for less than he thinks they're worth. In the end, I dont see he trading Lauri if he cant fleece another team.

I think this is a 1st or Kessler too much value for Ingram, but I would not be excited by the end result even if it were balanced.

I mean if this was really all that was out there to get a starting calibre C then I guess. Hawkins didn't have a great rookie year but I feel like he's going to be a player once he's comfortable. Sexton/Alvarado is a tiny backup duo. The pick isn't anything special. I think the OP has some nice ideas to it I'd just feel like this was a desperate move on Griff's part of it happened.

As a Bucks fan, I’d love this deal for them but don’t think Brook has enough value to get net both Kessler and Clarkson.

NO hangs up the phone. They aren’t trading Hawkins and Ingram for that. You’d at the very least have to also put Kessler going to the Pels.
