Greece should be one of the favorites, their achilles heal is shooting. Seeing Giannis, Papagiannis, Walkup and Calathes is some blast from the past lineup. It can come down to Calathes shooting, as everyone decides to gamble on him, and he always takes those shots. Killed Monaco just like that. But Greece seem to have another bad shooter at all times, so opponents can switch on who they sag off. A bit tricky situation for Spanoulis to handle, is there a single very good shooter on that team?

So this Greek team will be grouped with Australia and Canada. Plus perhaps Spain. Should be the “group of death”?

Greece is almost there, I hope Slovenia can make up some of the deficit to make it more interesting in the last quarter.

Yea for sure, the group is wide open. The 2 other groups are pretty straightforward, at least the first 2 places are, with France/Germany and USA/Serbia, with the 3rd place up in the air.

Lol Slovenia... Cancar was suppose to be 2nd best player but i'm not sure that he would get signed by a GLeague team right now.

Dallas fans are happy as Luka will rest and stay at home. Slovenia frozen at -29.
Croatia vs Dominikana will be an interesting game.

Well years ago, i dont think many, but the czechs, expected Czech reoublic to defeat Canada.

Croatia is the typical team that can be beaten by a lot of teams, but that can beat anybody (almost) any day.

Croatia can definitely upset Greece, I stick to that. Recent results made people forget Croatia has good talent, just like it made people forget Latvia didn't have that much talent. Talent prevails, you cant underperform or overperform forever. But Greece does look great...

Yep, Croatia can win against almost anyone, but can also lose to almost anyone. In addition, the refs are gonna pull for Greece so Croatia must play great to win. Croatia has no top quality substitutions. I don't see the likes of Nakic or Kapusta rising to the occasion. Filipovic and Brankovic played really good against Slovenia, but they got a couple of minutes against NZ as a reward. They would have to repeat that performance against Slovenia.
I would love to see Croatia advance but Greece is a clear favorite here.

It really wouldn't shock me to see Gobert play his final years in the NBA backing up Victor. They play so well together.

How is anyone going to score in the paint against Gobert/Wemby in FIBA without the defensive second rule + the ability to knock the ball off the rim.

I'm saying that while ignoring the offensive potential just shown in those highlights too lol

Here's some info for dummies like me who are trying to figure out where we're at and what the games are...

Luka and Giannis’ matchup today isn’t the only notable Olympic Qualifying game taking place this Saturday.

The semifinals in each of the men’s FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments — held in Greece, Latvia, Puerto Rico and Spain — get underway today in all four regions (stream here: https://www.courtside1891.basketball/competitions/fiba-olympic-qualifying-tournaments?utm_source=fibaweb&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=OQT&utm_content=gamelinks&lid=wfd7ipus401b).

Greece: Greece vs. Slovenia (10:30 a.m. ET) | Croatia vs. Dominican Republic (2 ET)
Latvia: Brazil vs. Philippines (8:30 a.m. ET) | Cameroon vs. Latvia (12 ET)
Puerto Rico: Italy vs. Lithuania (4 ET) | Puerto Rico vs. Mexico (7 ET)
Spain: Bahamas vs. Lebanon (11:30 a.m. ET) | Finland vs. Spain (2:30 ET)

All four finals will take place Sunday and the winners of each region will qualify for the Paris Olympic Games, joining the eight teams already qualified for Paris 2024.

Teams Already Qualified for Paris (8): Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Serbia, South Sudan, USA
