Great value deal for us. I was thinking 2 years $16.3 million full Room Exception but this deal is just as good. Only downside is we can't trade him unless he agrees to it. He is widely known as a below average defender but I would imagine he's going to be similar to Alec Burks on that side of the floor.

Happy to see this move, at a very reasonable price. The waiting game may be paying off.

Adding Beasley doesn’t make Ivey expendable.
And we still need Stewart as he’s (assumingly) our only backup C, who can also play some PF

1) Beasley is only signing a 1-year deal so we won’t have his Bird Rights next offseason

2) If we viewed Beasley as a starter, let alone a long-term starter, we’d sign him for more than a 1-year deal.

If anything, he makes THJ expendable. Maybe one of Ausar/Holland too, if we’re looking to make a bigger trade

Pickup Paul Reed.
Sign Tyus.
Trade Ivey Stew draft picks for Ingram
Boom

Duren Reed
Tobias Fontecchio
Ingram Ausar
Cade Beasley THJr
Tyus Sasser
The 3 bench guards can fight over the 36backup SG minutes since Cade and Tyus would gobble up all the PG minutes. Then Holland and Ausar can take all the backup SG+SF minutes once Beasley and THJr leave

Solid move.

Still around 16-18 mill left, but I now think it’s a legit possibility we’re done outside of resigning Tech.

Good signing. I actually saw him play pretty good defense.. He had very good reflexes and effort. Great shooter but was on a stacked Bucks team and didn't get too much playing time.

For now that is a possibility...but I still expect Langdon to turn over the majority of the roster by next season. Anybody not named Cade could be on the move.

I got the opposite impression- that he still wants to evaluate our young players.

The reality is, Cade and Tobias have starting jobs and everyone else should be competing for a starter spot no one else at this point is worthy of just being handed a starting spot.

I love this move.

Is THJ's defense really that much better than this guy's? If not can we give him and the three 2nds back and get back Grimes and have 28-30 mill left?

Training camp is going to be a BIG deal. We really need for everybody to be healthy & participate. New coach & young team - they need that time together. Coach gonna need that time to figure out lineups.

He's a traffic cone. If he wasn't, contending teams would be dying to have him at $6M. I recall watching a breakdown of Milwaukee losing in the playoffs and it was basically a Beasley low-light reel on defense. Just totally lost.

Great addition we desperately needed more shooting. Career 38.5% last year 41.3%. Good price too I love it!

Agreed just handing guys jobs based on where they were drafted isnt how to build a winning culture. Give the best player today the starting job and make the other guys bust their butt to get better to be a starter.

I honestly like this move, surprised that he’s 27.

I looked it up. THJ's defensive rating was slightly worse than Beasley's for this past season.... <sigh>

it's nice to have actual nba players (even if they're not the best) as opposed to relying on guys that aren't in the league anymore to give rotation minutes.

i think we may be shooting a lot of 3s this season - THJ, beasley and even tek had really high 3PA rates last season, harris gets up more 3s than stewart, etc. hopefully that makes it easier to integrate ausar and holland into the rotation.
