I don’t understand why the Pels would want Herro after trading for Murray. There backcourt is set with Murray and McCollum and they have the young heir at two guard in Jordan Hawkins for cheap. None of these deals make sense for the pieces we are offering. It all comes down to Herro as the big matching salary and most of these teams we are registering interest with don’t need him. Same crap that happened with the Dame deal. Our biggest matching contract teams simply don’t need.

This right here. Pat goes to Andy and tells him to make it work.

Some of these fans just want their pound of flesh at this point. Careful what you ask for is all I can say

More than likely, they laughed on the phone.

No sense in trading for someone that isn’t a true needle mover. Even if we were to get Ingram, I don’t see that team winning a chip. The more time that passes, the more I want to see Jimmy traded. Commit to the youth and develop Jaime, Jovic, Ware, etc. Let’s make Heat basketball fun again. I’m perfectly ok with a rebuild.

Lillard is an interesting one. Bam was with him this offseason and I still don’t think he’s truly happy to be in Milwaukee. Herro would fit in well with the Bucks considering it would be a home coming for him and can sell him to the fan base. They have a huge hole at the two spot. They can fill out there backcourt with Rozier and Herro going there and also get younger by giving us Dame. Maybe even Brook Lopez can get tossed in since they are looking to part ways.

Fellas, this team ain't adding a damn thing. Heat as is will be in the play-in (again). They likely make the playoffs as the 7 or 8 seed (again). This will be seen as a win by the FO since it will be enough to convey a non-lottery 2025 pick to OKC. It may get interesting then with Butler opting out and possibly moving on forcing their hand into a mini-rebuild while having control of lottery picks in 2026 and 2027.

Goodwin definitely fed Barry the DeRozan interest bit.

Bam is now locked in through 2028 with a player option for 2029. The FO won't have to worry about him getting frustrated and asking out during a possible rebuild. Duncan and Rozier are off the books after '26 and Herro's contract ends after '27. Before then they'll have to make decisions on Jovic and Jaquez. This is our reality. You can bitch and moan to no end about it or accept it and hope for the best. I don't see Riley, 80 years old next March, being in charge much longer. Fans will get what they want and then we will see if anything really changes.

Re: Miami Heat Offseason Thread Vol. 4: Fraudfather Snoozin 2.0
Our team is fine for now. We are breaking the back of our cap position being untenable, prepping for the Bam era, and remaining competitive enough (i.e. playoffs) to give it one more Jimmy go. We've cleared some glut on the wings that will mean the guys we really need to evaluate (Herro, Jovic, JJJ) can get some serious burn. If there was a way to flatten Roziers 1 year and Herro's 3 years into 2/2 and draw a line on this roster, it would be better, as Herro just goes one year too long for our cap.

Would anyone do Khris Middleton for Tyler Herro? I'd be intrigued by the idea. Feel like we are getting ripped off in a way, which probably means it is actually fair. One less year on Khris contract, and probably fits more seamlessly into the background, but also on the decline. Herro has some hometown value for Milwaukee I imagine.

Spurs in the driver’s seat if they want Markkanan.
Nobody is beating there offer if they want him. Wemby and Lauri front court could be devastating.

Herro on paper looks like an excellent fit with Milwaukee especially considering the hometown value. This is why Lillard 2.0 looks so interesting.

It'll come down to what the snake Giannis wants. He has proven to be shortsighted with the Dame/Holiday move (gifted Celtics a title) and HC carousel (ending up with Doc Rivers).

Take one glance at Bucks depth chart and you can see how Herro makes sense for them. Portland never made sense with Simons and Sharpe
