Zach to the Lakers with the Bucks

Post#1 » by Syko_boB » Sun Jul 7, 2024 3:56 am

LAL

D Russell / R Hachimura / G Vincent / C Wood
For
Z LaVine / J Carter

Lakers hand the keys to Austin but give him a terrific running mate in Zach, and plenty assistance in playmaking throughout the roster
Keep some assets/contracts/picks to make other moves

Davis / Hayes
James / Vanderbilt
Christie / Knecht
LaVine / Reddish
Reaves / Carter

MIL

B Lopez / P Connaughton
FOR
R Hachimura / G VIncent / C Wood

Rui's 3 has improved to where the Bucks won't miss Lopez' floor-spreading, especially with Rui/Giannis/Bobby all being capable of running the 5 for stretches and running together

Portis / Wood
Antetokounmpo / Hachimura
Middleton / Beauchamp
Wright / Prince
Lillard / Vincent

CHI

Z Lavine / J Carter
For
D Russell / B Lopez / P Connaughton

Worst case scenario both vets leave after their deals end next year
Best case scenario they turn into all-stars again on a depleted team and net them some picks at the deadline

This might be the best Lavine trade I’ve seen but I’m higher on Lavine than most people. Lavine would work well on the Lakers assuming he’s healthy. The Lakers maybe lose a little depth but this raises their ceiling.

I suspect bucks fans won’t be thrilled but they’re not returning a star or a lottery pick for Lopez. Hachimura actually aligns better with how doc wants to play defense.

I think Milwaukee should be taken out, but I like the core concept.

STOP GIVING CHICAGO RUSSELL!

We have a glut of guards and do not need or want him.

Honestly Lakers should just do the trade with the Bucks

You can’t actually think this trade is about fit for Chicago. Taking on d-lo’s expiring and moving off Lavine without using draft capital is a home run.

D-lo could potentially be rerouted too, I don’t understand why teams like him but there’s usually a suitor out there for him.

Honestly, I was thinking just cut out Chicago and keep BroLo for themselves.

The Bulls don't have many minutes for Do, which means he's on the bench and unhappy because he's not sowing off for his next contract. The don't want to complete the Lopez double if they still have Vucevic, especially since they just signed Jalen Smith
Conaughton makes too much for too long and has role to fill doubly soif they get DLo.

The good part of this trade for the Bulls is giving up Lavine and Carter, after that, it's awful

Chicago fans aren't going to like what's coming back in a Lavine deal.

This looks great for Chicago. Just flip DLo to some other team later. He's an expiring contract. Getting off of Lavine's contract is the return. If you can do that without giving multiple 1sts, be happy.

A couple issues with the Lavine trade that nobody can answer seemingly

1) Who is our closing SF now? Is it Vando (if he stays healthy even)? He cant shoot, but maybe looks better in an offense under JJ. This is the biggest issue. No cheap SFs that I see are available, unless someone seeing something I am not
2) Can Lavine and Reaves defend well enough in the backcourt? Maybe

Besides that, Rui needs to go to a team that will give some compensation for him. He has value, especially considering posters here are asking for 2 1sts for Jerami Grant on a horrible contract

And we need to get compensated a bit imo. At least a couple of 2nds or a guy like Terry

Then can use a bundle of a 1st, those small assets and a contract like JHS (or Hayes and Terry/Lewis) to get a backup C like Kessler

I don’t see the value for Chicago. If this is to dump off LaVine’s salary I guess it works. I think Chicago is owed picks here. Russell going to Chicago duplicates PGs again.

Bucks are not trading Brook without getting a center back.
