Donovan is going to use his leverage again when he has the option to opt-out of his contact again, and he's going to make sure Johnnie becomes the head coach before re-signing.

Is that enough for him to stay … in Cleveland?

Being that he used his leverage to get Johnnie Bryant hired, and now Johnnie has to move his family to Cleveland, I think he's going to stay and sign the 5/$380M+ extension in 3 years.

Kenny Atkinson definitely knows the person sitting next to him is his replacement and he hasn't even coached a Cavs' game yet.

Yeah, I think they picked up an unprotected pick swap from Dallas in 2030 just for taking on the final year of Bullock's contract last season. I like how they don't rush things and just patiently try to build the best team for the future despite how impactful Wemby is already.

Good point.

Atkinson can’t be happy about this. I’ll have to read up on it

How the hell did they convince the Kings to just throw in a pick swap? Harrison Barnes is a serviceable player and his contract isn't even bad at 2 more years, 19m per.

In six years the Spurs with Wemby will be one of the better teams in the league and the Kings will have already fallen apart so be back in the lottery. Holy crap that's such bad management by the Kings which is why they will be coughing up a lottery pick to the Spurs.
If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right
...you are a fan of your opinion not the team.

You bring it up on the GB and half the comments are "why do you want to destroy a guy's life over one tiny mistake? Think of her and their children, the more he makes, the more they'll get!"

Gross.

People make mistakes, sure. We all have done or said stuff at one point of our lives that we wish we could take back.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miles_Bridges

According to Johnson's hospital report which she posted to Instagram, she was an "adult victim of abuse by male partner" which included assault by strangulation, brain concussion, closed fracture of nasal bone, contusion of rib, multiple bruises, and a neck muscle strain.

^That's not a tiny mistake. That's a serious beating he put on the mother of his children. You or I would be in prison right now if we did that to anyone, nevermind a woman. Dude also got charged with 2 felony counts of child abuse. Where is the red line here?

What's the difference between Miles Bridges and Jontay Porter, I wonder?

Spot on. The difference couldn’t be more significant, as Bridges’s offense actually and severely harmed someone.

I get the Kings were after a talent upgrade but if you're at the point where you're throwing away unprotected picks and a useful rotation player you might as well go get a guy like Ingram IMO.

The fit is just as questionable as Demar's but at least Ingram is younger and should hold his value a bit more. If it doesn't work with Demar quickly you're kind of screwed within a year's time.

If I'm them I'm quietly shopping Sabonis for better fitting role players IMO. Honestly hate the Fox, DD and Sabonis trio. Especially defensively they're going to get roasted. Also Sabonis and DD tend to operate in the same areas offensively.

DDR is a talent upgrade and I always like when teams "go for it", but I don't see them getting higher than maybe 7th-8th seed.
they lack 3point shooting and defense in the worst way.

there you go. I made no sense for him to not leave a little but on the table and the Lakers being a second apron team.

He was at contender against a depleted Cavs team and couldn't deliver as first option. Actually not only did he not deliver, he actually had an all time great chokes against LeBron. The team swapped him for Kawhi and they instantly got the rings.

DDR and Kings are made for each other.

Now I'm interested to see where Brandon Ingram is gonna go. New Orleans has bungled this right?

I can’t blame him though. How many guys are at his age and making his money?

I think only way I’d take him here would be as a sixth man
