I voted for Lauri based upon his All Star selection but I hate these kind of questions because it oversimplifies a very complicated question.
McDaniel's is the better defender, younger, signed to a long term deal and is the kind of player archetype that can fit pretty much anywhere. Lauri is the more talented player and can be an offensive focal point but has only shined on terrible teams, isn't as clean a fit everywhere and is on an expiring contract.
If I had to give up multiple first rounders I would want the younger player with the cleaner fit signed to a long term deal.
and still be treated as if you were reasonable.
