I remember Phoenix thought about signing him. It couldn't have been a terrible idea, being surrounded by a lot of shooters.

Maybe he isn't in love with basketball?

Yeah France has a lot of talent. I figured he didn't stand a chance and was mildly surprised to see he was even on the initial roster.

I wonder if Killian ever gets another shot in the NBA? Id be curious what our new shooting coach could do with him, not that we'll actually sign him, more a curiosity.

Monty insisting on playing Hayes will be one of his gravest of crimes during his time here

I think Weaver is gone because of Hayes... not just the fact he drafted Hayes but also the fact that he forced him into the rotation when he wasn't anywhere close to being an NBA rotation level player and he didn't cut his losses on him he stayed here for 3.7 years.

If Weaver would have simply not picked up Hayes' 4th year option for $7+ million and instead had that extra cap space and instead had an actual NBA level player Weaver is likely still here.

The fact that he committed so hard to a guy, who it was clear within his first few games he was handed the starting role, and he was no where near an NBA level player and was going to be a multiple year project to even have a chance of being a rotation worthy player.

I brought this up before, but Langdon will always be linked to Holland during his tenure in Detroit.

Let's hope for everyone's sake, it turns out differently.

Weaver failed to assemble a NBA roster. It wasn't just Hayes. He forced Stewart into a position he doesn't have a skillset to play, he signed/traded mostly for players that are no longer in the league, or are minimum salary players.

He miss managed our limited assets

He did not lose his job because of Hayes, Hayes was a factor, but it was a lot more than that.

I’ve turned the page on Killian so many times, I don’t even like seeing his name in new threads :nonono:

Killian Hayes's best moment in the NBA may simply have been the amount of debate/scorn he produced for the few Piston faithful. Even now, I couldn't help myself by clicking on this...

Killian's best moment in the NBA was probably swinging on a guy.

I think you have a better chance seeing him working the McDonalds drive thru. He was HISTORICALLY bad shooting his first three seasons. He was cut last season and no teams called. This will be the final straw for him.

For fun, I decided to see who beat out Killian on Team France. They are running three point guards. Two of those PGs have never played a single NBA game. Frank Ntilikina is the only one with experience. He played 5 games for Charlotte last season before being waived and has a career high of six points. Those are the three point guards that beat out Killian. Safe to say his career is over.

Holland will be successful and I'm willing to better he will be our franchise player. Hayes played in a soft league. The hunger wasn't there. He was from a spoon fed family. There was absolutely no intention to be great.
