I wonder if Slovenia makes another Olympics in Luka's prime. Some of the young players, like Klavzar and the kid that plays in Berlin, didn't really pan out. Prepelic doesn't have too many more years left.

Slovenia was formidable because they had Dragic AND Luka and sprinkled in prime Randolph/Tobey etc. Now it's just Luka basically.
So many people who attain the heights of power in this culture—celebrities, for instance—have to make a show of false humility and modesty, as if they got as far as they did by accident and not by ego or ambition.

Yeah, their whole thing fell apart ever since Union Olimpia became irrelevant, very sad. They can thank Spaniards for developing that one guy, but thats where we stop. Serious question, do we have a single Slovenian on Euroleague roster right now?

Back in the late 90s/early 00s they had no Luka but a plethora of talents, IDK why it got so dry

Hoping for upsets for Brazil and Bahamas (or at least they cover.) Greece should be easy in, and maybe Lithuania…

Latvia and Lithuania do not have naturalized players as far as I know.

Few nations still holding the front. Serbia as well. Of course we can debate legitimacy of these players, that Finnish guy does not count as naturalized player, he is Finnish, but is he, he is definitely an American. Lithiania are very strongly against naturalized players, they do not even consider a foreign coach for some reason. but Buzelis will play for them, and while he will not count as naturalized player, a lot of people say he is as American as Lorenzo Brown. I mean, he is, but he is far more Lithuanian than Brown is Spanish tho.

Always hated this naturalized player thing, but we could live with it, because at first, only small teams did that. But when Spain does it, and do not even see the problem in it, its just pathetic imo. I think I would just not cheer for my team anymore, if they did that.

Spain had Johny rogers or Mike Smith playing for them 30 years ago.ç
Is not new.

It only bothers people because they WOn.

( wich they already had done with no naturalized players, so i dont see the point of the hate).

bahams is not an upset ,they are the clear favourites.

Well, then you clearly don't get it. They were dominant team on their own YET STILL added naturalized superstar to the mix. That is exactly the most ridiculous problem. Every naturalization bothers fans, but of course it bothered more that they won. Euro freaking champs, dragged by the ears by great European Lorenzon Brown... It is like KD titles, you won it, but fans do not really respect it.

You really bringing this, like it wasn't talked to dealth, like Spain and FIBA Europe wasnt dunked on enough rolf? Did you miss what entire basketball world thought of that MVP?

We all know Lorenzo was MVP. Discorse around was all over the place, it was the time FIBA Europe themselves were so freaking ashamed of what happened, they gave it to Willy. The moment it was announced, my local broadcasters kinda flipped out - well yeaf, even FIBA pretends this farce didnt happen. Sadly it did. It was flat out Lorenzos team, and what are you trying to fool? It happened 2 years ago, maybe 50 years from now people will not remember what happened there.

Enjoy your gold, I personally will never respect it, and I know a lot of people feel the same. How many times my nation lost to Spain? We beat them in 2003, and probably lost everything ever since. Any time they crush us, I would think - wow, what a great basketball nation. Pau. Navarro, Calderon, Reyes etc. etc. What A team. When we lost that that 1/8 final, where it trully was Lithuania vs Lorenzo Brown, he did everything for Spain. It was first time we lost to Spain and I pittied the winner. We did not lost to Spain that day, we Lost to Lorenzo Brown. It was emberassement and abomination of this rule. Enjoy the title, if you didnt flat out outbid Croatia weeks before tournament, so Brown would merc for your ass, things would have been different... wow, your federation has enough dough to buy out talent, thats the spirit of national teams.... Do you celebrate Lorenzo Brown the samevas Navarro or Pau? Yeah....

Let me find out Caboclo is finally living up to Masai's prophecy. Brazil is less than 7 minutes from the Olympics.
