It just takes away flexibility and puts us in bad situations where like let’s say we want to cut salary, teams can use that penalty as leverage to take more picks from us. I think how Boston approaches the next two offseasons will tell us a lot.
True, my only thing is that I don’t think that’s enough justification to trade someone of Randle’s caliber. Just can’t wrap my head around that
Only 1 player comes to mind that has similar accolades. That player would most likely have to have their team be super disappointing going into the deadline and he would have to be vocal about being unhappy. A 3 team deal would need to take place to make it work salary / player wise, but Devin Booker is the name. Not sure we have all what Phoenix would want (Ju, Duece, Precious, protected 1st and 2nds would more than likely need involved) but the lingering interest by Leon in the past just seems to bring him to mind.
Even if the suns are disappointing, and if he demands a trade:
Why would the suns trade him here for Julius Randle and Josh hart when they could easily get better packages for him
What kind of fit would he be here when we already have Mikal and Donte
And would the teams even be able to get a deal that works with all the apron stuff
All these scenarios seem highly unlikely. Meanwhile we can just lock in our all star PF
