Papagiannis has improved a lot his 3p shot, maybe he has a role as a stretch 5 in the nba

5/8 3p today.

Also Calathes had 10+ assists per game in this qualifying tournament

Cheap Brook replacement? Is he a legit rim protector in FIBA? I was intrigued the last week but hearing he shot 5/8 is awesome

I imagine Bucks have already done their due diligence since Giannis is playing next to him and Papagiannis being a legit NBA prospect back in the day. We'll see, if he can shoot well then he can probably stick in NBA lineups, he's a big body.

Calathes has Khris-like chemistry with Giannis but I don't see the Bucks wanting him as a backup PG at all

Good for Giannis. Now that we have come this far does Greece have a chance to make a run here?

Amazing moment for the team and for Greece. Been a long time.

It was a fun game, especially in the first half when Croatia were keeping it closer and playing us tough. Freak had a very solid, if unspectacular game. The good thing was that he picked his spots and never really got out of control despite a few ill-advised fouls. His mid-range shot looked smooth all game. Papagiannis and Calathes had very good games as well. Walkup was shaky and looked like a deer in the headlights at times. I'm more intrigued with Dino Mitoglou as a "stretch 4" playing next to Gianni. Surprised Spanoulis hasn't gone to that well much. The thing I love the most about this group is the way they play connected on defense with the hustle.

I'm not sure what Greece can do in the Olympics as you have heavy-hitters like France and USA that should be favored, but anything can happen I suppose if a team gets hot.
"Wes, Hill, Ibaka, Allen, Nwora, Brook, Pat, Ingles, Khris are all slow-mo, injury prone ... a sandcastle waiting for playoff wave to get wrecked. A castle with no long-range archers... is destined to fall. That is all I have to say."-- FOTIS
