Re: Miami Heat Offseason Thread Vol. 4: Fraudfather Snoozin 2.0
Provided Jaime’s 3 ball has developed sufficiently, I’d be good with:
Rozier / Herro / Pullin
Jaquez / Richardson / Larsson
Butler / Robinson / Burks
Jovic / Love / Johnson
Adebayo / Ware / Bryant
Does feel like we need a true backup 1, and a move of Duncan or Herro. If Tyler is OK embracing the bench scorer role, it could work, but I don’t like the Tyler/Robinson duo getting significant reps together.

I’m all in on Tyus
Duncan and Niko gets its done but is an overpay.
Therefore Mia should also offer Rozier and make an appeal for Kuzma
Two separate transactions per sign n trade rules
hes a FA

Feel like at this point giving Tyus 2/10.4 (w 2nd year as player option) is fair

I think he's thinking sign and trade which is likely what it would take to get him unless we free up salary first somehow to sign him outright.

I just think the fit would be better. If money talks how can Herro be 6th man? Rozier seems like he'd be more willing to take on the 6th man role than Herro. And Jones is more of a true 1 who could run the offense best as a table setter. Then Rozier can come in and be the gunner that he really is.
Its easy to justify Herro as 6th man because Rozier is the only pg on the roster and the duo just isnt ideal defensively to start.
On the surface yes, but he's not going to like it where as Terry is happy to be here and at 30 would be more willing to do it imo. Herro's young and after winning 6th man has said he wants to start and thinks he'd be an all star if starting. He even admitted to not really liking coming out early when him and Rozier were starting together this year. I just think Terry is better and would rather him in that role if we have another PG like Tyrus which is what my hypothetical was about.
Thing is these guys are pros and all have a job to do. People continue to take a press conference from years ago out of context, whether he likes it or not Herro is going to do whatever Spo asks him to do.
And for the record I’d be fine with adding Tyus.

I just can’t stop thinking about how much Trae would single handedly fix this teams offense and how he is literally the best fit of any guard in the league outside of maybe Haliburton next to Bam and Ware and while his value is at the lowest it’s ever been we’re not even rumored to be interested. Just baffling to me

New idea, even though im not a Marcus Smart guy at ALL. His contract fits my timeline
To Heat - Marcus Smart, Santi Aldama
To Grizzlies - Clint Capela (expiring, can let Edey adjust), Bogdan Bogdanovic
To Hawks - Tyler Herro, Brandon Clarke, 2026 2nd from Heat

Steph would be the ideal fit.
Brunson on this team would be even more lethal than he already is.

True Herro would have to do it like it or not. If we did get a starting PG like Tyrus and move Rozier to the bench I'd rather go that route as I think it would make us better. That gives us 2 PGs instead of 1 like we have right now for one thing. Who knows maybe Herro would be fine with it at least outwardly, I don't think he'll openly pout, but I just like Terry more in that gunner role. Herro as 6th man will still be playing 30 min so him and Terry will still see lots of floor time together, it's unavoidable as of now. I just think it's time to move on from Herro but it's just my preference and what I think fits best imo.

Not a Marcus Smart guy either but I will admit it would be nice to have that kind of defense at guard and he'd fit with Rozier much better than the Terry/Herro fit is with zero defense between them.

If Herro really does have negative value, I'd rather keep him for 2 years when the cap will be higher and he will be a 33M expiring at 26 years old

No draft picks next year. Can’t tank this year. Still hoping they trade Jimmy though. The drop off hasn’t been that big record wise when he doesn’t play in the regular season. Not going far in the playoffs anyway. Unless there are multiple injuries to other teams ahead of the Heat.

At this point just start Herro and Terry together. Depending on the matchup, on who gets hot etc bench the other one to help spread out the minutes together. The goal right now should be to make the playoffs. Teams dont really play defense until the playoffs for the most part, so take advantage of that and just start both of them. That way no one's trade value is destroyed

FYI-we own our pick if it is lottery. We can def tank. And should. One season. Everyone sell your soul.

If we get a lottery pick this year, we give up two unprotected first round picks, one to OKC and one to the Hornets to complete the Terry trade. Dont think thats a good idea.

If we tanked and got Dylan Harper in the 25 draft, you wouldnt care about a couple 1st rounders.
