They're not the same, but similar in both frame and mobility-- Hassan was really. good at one point. The comparison isn't a slight

Your making my point. “Hassan had a soft touch, made a baby hook, caught lobs, and hit a jump shot” theyre the same player.
Hassan had ugly form and a hitch on his jumper. Doesn’t mean he couldn’t hit one on occasion, it means he was less a natural and less efficient a shooter.
Your tieing together the things that made/will make both players good and not seeing the differences that will possibly make the other very good and altogether a different player on the court than the later.
Based off of a 1 game sample size in the summer league (against players that will likely not make an NBA roster), you've said the following:
Wares jumpshot, footwork, quickness, and handle is far ahead of anything Whiteside had.
I hope you're correct because I want Ware to turn out great, but that's a pretty bold statement to make. It's easy to look great against non NBA-level players.
No, I said the following based off of those same qualities that were present during his last collegiate season and that are again flashing against non-nba talent.
Qualities that were not present in Whitesides game in the entirety of his career. Which at times he forced inefficiently because he was “different”.
My point is, they look similar but one has potential to be much more well rounded and talented.
Gotcha mate. In that case, I agree

I am looking forward to the titanic battle of the centers on Saturday: Kel'el Ware vs Neemias Queta.

So are Stevens and Pullin looking like nba pgs to anyone else? They do to me. Hopefully the heat see that soon. I want guards that can run pick and rolls. Less of these undersized 2s

They seem to be 2 of the more developed floor general PGs from this draft cycle IMO. As they should be as 4+ year college guys. Kolek fits in that category too.
It's great to see that translating in summer league with the lack of real structure and familiarity. THey also need to show enough other complementary skills to warrant NBA rotation minutes--positional defensive impact, off-ball shooting, advantage creation, etc.
Love that Miami has both of them to work to develop.

They're definitely similar in frame. They're similarly deficient in some court awareness at Point A of their journeys with the Heat (Whiteside at age 25; Ware at age 20). I think there's a bigger difference in their mobility and body control than some are letting on on here. The combine testing numbers obviously show that. But only so much weight can be placed on such testing. I think diving into game tape (more than just highlights) also shows that.
It just seems really lazy to see Whiteside's name pop up multiple times on the page when there are a plethora of 7'+ prospects that Ware similarly can be compared and contrasted to.
A lot of the stuff being pointed out from the 1-2 summer league games are just the price of doing business when drafting and developing a toolsy 7 footer with legitimate 2-way potential. They're gonna get gassed. They're gonna have less court awareness and craft than smaller more skilled players. They're gonna have more foul issues early on. etc.
Like some have noted, a Whiteside comparison isn't all bad. We're just all acutely aware of the deficiencies in Whiteside's game that proved fatal to NBA team success (some of it was mental makeup) and it becomes really easy for that comparison to take on a life of its own on here.
I've done enough HW on Ware to want to move past the low hanging fruit of it.

Yup. I believe they're preparing him for a potential rotation spot with Porzingis out until January and the even older man Horford playing limited minutes. Queta appears to be a real player.
It really is a fun summer center match up.

If he can have a semblance of the 3 point shot then I can see it. He hasn't really popped off in a G League devoid of big man talent and he's 25 this summer (Orlando Robison puts Queta's G League numbers to shame). It'll prove to be a tougher test for Ware for sure.

Okay, watch this:
I think a lot of you are making super valid points.....especially that Ware has yet to see NBA lvl dudes consistently.
Having said that, I don't remember a lot of Whiteside except we loved him, until we didn't....something we do a lot of....BTW...as a fan base we tend to give a lot of benefit of doubt....until we don't....
To me personally....that whiteside looked a lot like Bam now...don't fight to get deep, take what they give you and shoot over the top.... yesterday's ware does not remind me of that.....Ware got deep and attacked the basket with ease...probably level of competition...but that could also be mindset....Ware looked like he has anti settle mindset....dude could make noise down low.
It is true, we do not yet know if Ware is the dude, but I think it is completely fair to say...as fans.....we really want that mindset on this team. Can he or Can't he is yet to be determined....but you have to have that mindset to first.

People hate for Whiteside are now diminishing how talented he was. There was nothing wrong with Whiteside talent, it was his maturity and the Heat giving him a contract as if he was a number one guy.

Now you got me intruiged about Point Pelle, Twix.
Not sure his handle or passing ability is truly good enough for the 1, but he might be able to do it in our "positionless" system. If it means Jaime is off creating at the top of the key and posting up in the midpost instead, I'm for it.

Aw come on, why we gotta force another SG to play PG? Never end up actually being good pgs. What about Pullin or Stevens?

Going to be interesting...someone is going to have to take that off ball lurking then cutting spot Martin has held down... I don't know what you actually call that, but Martin was at his best flashing to the rim, and JJJ was at his best hanging out on that dunker spot moving to stay open.
I wonder what the ISO is going to look like if JJJ take the next step...I wonder if we see Jimmy and JJJ taking turns from both sides and what that will do for Bam in the middle if people send doubles.
Last season did look like a shift from outside in to inside out with all that paint scoring....wonder if we can use the size they added in Jovic and Ware this season to start going over the top more.
Play-in, high seed...whatever...I hope we get to see guys develop this year. Watching JJJ and Jovic last season to me was the best part.

Edey is drawing so much attention in the paint the Grizz getting wide open treys. If Jazz give him a little bit of space its an easy dunk. And he setting some big screens.
Edey is gonna be a problem
