They had to do it but there's a reason why he's never even made an all star team. He's been healthy for 4 playoff runs. 2 good, 2 where he struggled with efficiency. His highlight moments are great, but dude's overall body of work does not justify this contract.

You can’t risk losing Murray if you don’t give him this contract. He’s proven to be good enough off of Joker.

And Murray doesn’t really deserve it, so it’s great for him.

I think the Nuggets would be smart to trade Murray and MPJ to reset their capsheet and collect assets. They've been priced out of keeping a full team around Jokic and that will continue as long as they overpay their guys.

Yeah even if they want a TO on the last year, sign sign sign. Just not a better situation for you than getting max money and having Jokic take all the heat. Murray was terrible and the reason they lost to Minny, but Jokic has taken all the crap for it. Plus Jokic makes his basketball life easier than it would be anywhere else. He can look like a 2nd star while not really being one, get paid for it, and never have to take any heat.

Definitely high ceiling compared to his floor.

On a side note is it just me or does new Celtics 2nd round guy Anton Watson look a lot like Jamal Murray.
