It sucks because we all want to watch Wemby but it'll be interesting to see how France matches up against a very good team without him. Yabusele is a great fit next to Gobert and he has been the 3rd best player in the preparation so far.

Ugh, was finally hyped to watch a game with an English broadcast team. Without Wemby the game loses all of its luster.

I guess that Schroeder will get a lot of new friends during Olympics at Lille and Paris :)
LA 2028 (Starters):
Francisco - Strazel - Malédon - Traoré ?
Coulibaly - Fournier
Risacher - Cordinier
Yabusele- Hoard - Essengue/Penda?
Wembanyama - Lessort - Raynaud / Beringer /Sarr?

wemby's getting overrated. noone cared when siakam and embiid played for cameroon but wemby who led the spurs to the lottery is going to be the difference.

The thing is France is already decent without him
Also he has the potentially to surpass both of those guys.

Schroeder, what a ****! (I am not there is enough 4 letters words for him :p)

It is like there is a life with Wemby, and one without him ...

Germany defeats France 70-65. Wagner bros were back and looking good, Franz led all scorers with 17 and Mo was his usual annoying self. France missed Wemby on offense more than they did on defense, their defense is still very good without him.
Next game for France is on friday at 9pm against Serbia. Let's hope both Wemby and Jokic are playing.

According to reports, supposedly 2024 EuroLeague Final Four MVP Kostas Sloukas will not play with Greece at the Olympics. Neither will apparently any of Greece's other main missing players, that were also absent from the Olympics qualifying tournament (Ioannis Papapetrou, Nikos Rogkavopoulos, Dimitris Agravanis, Tyler Dorsey). Thanasis Antetokounmpo will also still be out.

Kostas Antetokounmpo, who was on Greece's Olympic Qualifying Tournament team, will also not be on the Olympics roster. That leaves one open spot on the team for the Olympics. Michalis Lountzis, Nikos Chougkaz, and Giannis Kouzeloglou have been added to the team, and evidently a new mini training camp will decide which one of them makes the team for the Olympics, as the last player.

So supposedly out for the Olympics:

Kostas Sloukas
Ioannis Papapetrou
Nikos Rogkavopoulos
Dimitris Agravanis
Tyler Dorsey
Thanasis Antetokounmpo
Kostas Antetokounmpo

So possibly in for the Olympics, 1 out of these 3 players:

Michalis Lountzis
Nikos Chougkaz
Giannis Kouzeloglou

So Greece's final roster will look something like this:

Nick Calathes / Vassilis Toliopoulos / Dimitris Moraitis
Thomas Walkup / Giannoulis Larentzakis / Michalis Lountzis
Kostas Papanikolaou / Vassilis Charalampopoulos / Panos Kalaitzakis
Giannis Antetokounmpo / Dino Mitoglou / Nikos Chougkaz
George Papagiannis / Giannis Kouzeloglou

Andrew Albicy - Dreamland Gran Canaria
Nicolas Batum - Los Angeles Clippers
Isaia Cordinier - Virtus Segafredo Bologna
Bilal Coulibaly - Washington Wizards
Nando de Colo - LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne
Evan Fournier - Free Agent
Rudy Gobert - Minnesota Timberwolves
Mathias Lessort - Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens
Theo Maledon - Valley Suns
Frank Ntilikina - Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade
Elie Okobo - AS Monaco
Matthew Strazel - AS Monaco
Victor Wembanyama - San Antonio Spurs
Guerschon Yabusele - Real Madrid

According to a french journalist, the last 2 cuts from the french roster are Elie Okobo and Théo Maledon.

He said yesterday he wasnt going to take the olympics spot of a guy who competed in the OQT. I know he's a big personality and can be tough to handle but fair play to him it's the right thing to do.

Sloukas did? I meant Kostas Antetokoumpo
Sloukas never really had good performances with the NT anyway, I don't think it's a top priority to him. (That's not a criticism, that's entirely up to him, I'd just rather have someone who is passionate about it)

Not being willing to take a role that is anything less than the whole team revolves around him is probably the real reason.

He got hurt against Egypt and is most likely out for the Olympics (per sdna)

Dead serious, I had to look up who #8 was, I'm not used to that expression on his face at all. That, plus the hair.

Per eurohoops.
https://www.eurohoops.net/en/olympic-games/1694996/ivica-zubac-and-dario-saric-involved-in-bar-fight-video/

NBA players Ivica Zubac and Dario Saric were spotted fighting in Bolivar Beach Bar, a few hours after representing the senior national team of Croatia in the Final of the 2024 Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Piraeus.

On Monday, TMZ Sports published a video showing Zubac of the Los Angeles Clippers and Saric of the Denver Nuggets in a physical altercation at the nightclub near the venue of the OQT, Peace and Friendship Stadium, SEF, at around 5:30 AM, local time.

The reason behind the bar fight is unclear, as noted by TMZ Sports. However, Saric and Zubac appear outraged.
