I didn't understand the comparisons to Boban at all. He doesn't have gigantism. He can actually control his body.

There are definitely plenty of scenarios in between Boban & dominant, & yes he likely falls somewhere in there.

Clean up top but not a vertical leap so I think it stands.

Grizz with Ja/Bane/Jaren trio back and now Edey added to the mix, get added to the League Pass rotation from Game 1.

If I were Edey and my teammates didn't get me the ball like in this game, I would ask for a trade.

It'd be interesting to see what Edey would do w/ more capable & willing passers. Because he's filling the lane & burying his defender deep, but they are looking off him.

I don't think he's going to be an 8 and 8 in 20-25 minutes a game solid role player.

Grizz should have closed with Spencer.

Edey shows off his elite stamina again as well. 33 minutes of game action in high altitude. Not bad.

Thank you Edey for the tip-in to force OT. That was $200 worth of tipin for the Over 186.5 bets. LOL

He's really in amazing shape, looks like he even slimmed down a bit. He was moving great out there.

Was surprised by the minutes myself, regardless of altitude. He didn't disappoint that's for sure.

First NBA game (even summer league) in altitude tends to be hard on most players. 33 minutes and grabbing 15 boards. You love to see it. If Edey is a 30+ minute a night player for Memphis, that legitimately unlocks so much for them. I had them 4th in the West after his selection, but they may be on a try-hard revenge tour in 2024-25. If Vegas has them in the low 40's for wins, I say spam the over.

Edey has been well conditioned for a while now. He ran a 5:50 mile couple of years ago, at his size, that's pretty good.

What's going on with Laravia? There are times when Edey is in a perfect position to receive the ball in the post with a clear passing angle, but instead, Laravia opts not to pass and calls for a screen play as if he's Paul George.

Edey has always been this good. The mainstream media is just adept at manipulating public opinion.

Summer league has a well established history of not meaning much...

But all I'm saying is I'd rather Edey look good in SL than not look good.

I mean, Boban can really score, do not sell him short, he is not very stoppable even in the nba, and when he was at Zvezda, season before Spurs signed him, he put some Sabonis esque numbers in EL. Give Boban minutes and he will destroy the boxscore, he just can't play defense at all, thats really what it is.

I understand if people are far higher on Edey and hate Boban comp, but don't tell me you do not understand from where it comes. O'Connor kept bragging how far more skilled Edey is, he is actually skilled, but he made it sound like Boban is unskilled at all. Boban is crazy skilled, he is just far too slow, but put Boban in College, he would be most dominant player the same way Edey was.

Look at how much space his screen creates for Scottie Pippen Jr.

Read on Twitter

I think there's a good chance Zach can match Steven Adams' screening from day one. The game footage looks good so far. Adams was the best screener in the league IMO. He was #1 in the league for per 36 screen assists per game in '22 and '23. Here are his numbers from his Memphis' seasons:

2021-22: 5.5 screen assists (4th in NBA); 12.0 screen assist points (4th in NBA); 26.3 minutes per game
2022-23: 5.6 screen assists (1st in NBA); 12.6 screen assist points (2nd in NBA); 27.0 minutes per game

Adjusted numbers (minimum 621 minutes):

2021-22: 7.5 screen assists per 36 minutes (1st in NBA); 16.4 screen assist points per 36 minutes (2nd in NBA)
2022-23: 7.5 screen assists per 36 minutes (1st in NBA); 16.8 screen assist points per 36 minutes (1st in NBA)

They legitimately have a stat for anything. If Edey is setting a screen like that for a speed merchant like Morant, how do you stop Memphis' offense?
