Re: Official NBA General Discussion 2023-24 V2.0
Recapping the Spurs situation, with a generational talent everyone thinks they need to dash into contention with.
- Traded the 8th pick they got from us (in a tanking effort that got them said generational talent coincidently) for two unprotected picks/swaps far down the road.
- ate a bad two year contract into cap space to get another far down the road unprotected swap.
- did not feel the unbearable and inescapable need to "fill their hole at center" by trading back for Jak.
- signed some vets into space to help the team without wasting other futures.
Loved basically everything they did and that's from a team that has far more pressure to do something around a talent that probably already is the face of the league.

Not sure why Harrison Barnes is called a bad two year contract. He's a solid value under 20 mil AAV and he's a perfect culture fit for a growing team. It was a great move by the Spurs.

Mostly because "solid value" doesn't usually tend to cost a team a future unprotected first swap just to get rid of. He isn't a dead contract like Lonzo is - he'll be a vet who plays - but he clearly had negative value in the cap space market. Spurs would have chosen other players to take it without incentives instead.
Same with Boucher who likely would have taken a pick to move into space, but could hold value against other bad contract exchanges like Barnes.

Or the Kings were very desperate to sign DeMar and it was time sensitive and the Spurs capitalized on that.

I can't see much in the video. Were they fighting each other? Where did this happen?

Can’t believe they got two of the best 3&D guards in the league on the same team. NY is doing everything right, they will be a force for many years. Miss OG

Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

Re: Official NBA General Discussion 2023-24 V2.0
I got love for Gradey but I still wish we would’ve drafted Whitmore. He’s just so explosive that’s there’s some serious potential off the dribble to be similar to Mitchell (in that way, Cam will need to continue to improve his jumper) but there’s obvious potential there. It just could’ve been a really exciting addition and just bit more star upside imo. I think if we had IQ, Cam, Scottie it would already be a pretty exciting start and whatever player we got in this next draft to be the icing on the cake but I’m not stressing it. I just see his highlights (and Shepard’s who is still looking like a baller, bye Fred) and it’s hard not to think what we could’ve done with Cam.
Again I’m not hating on GD, his style of play is obv at least a good fit. I’m just saying a preference but it’s really whatever. I’m sure we’ll turn Gradey into a good player long term, at least offensively. Hopefully we find our star wing in the next draft.

Knicks getting sweetheart deals from Brunson and Bridges. If OG doesn’t put up, he could become the scapegoat.

Team WNBA leading the US Olympic team in the W All Star game. It's refreshing that both teams are playing hard in an all star game

With teams so tight with dollars, how do the Celtics pay Sam Hauser $45M over 4 years?

PG is a chronic liar lol. He said he was a Clippers fan growing up, a south Cali native obviously knew the Clippers were always the B Team and that nothing would change that.
Kawhi and PG both knew that when they signed there.
