Bulls Could Attach Second-Round Picks To Zach LaVine Trade

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Tue Jul 9, 2024 4:37 am

The Chicago Bulls could attach both second-round picks the team acquired in the DeMar DeRozan trade to sweeten a Zach LaVine deal, according to Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times.

The team has been actively trying to trade LaVine this offseason.

The Bulls had previously tried trading LaVine by attaching him to Alex Caruso.

With 2nd round picks they will not get this trade done. Even with 1st round picks it would be difficult. The easier path to them is trading all the other assets they have and use Lavine to be the star of the tanking

2nd rd picks aren't going to do it. At this point the Bulls best path to moving him might be keeping him into the season and hoping a team loses a player to injury with a high salary contract whose a pending free agent. There just aren't a lot of teams that you'd say there's a good fit for him because of his contract.

You can tank with Lavine. He is perfect tank commander. Dude just doesn’t know winning basketball.

With this new CBA, teams have to be more strategic cap wise. There is no incentive for them to take on really bad contracts without huge huge benefits.

The Bulls definitely deserve to get stuck with this contract, it is written in stones.

Agreed. There is no reason to give up assets when winning isn't a priority. And if he turns a corner and the team starts winning, LaVine becomes a positive asset again. There is no harm in waiting this one out.
