Detroit hasn't managed 30-wins since 2019, so if they're shooting for it, they're missing.

You can't control dropping in the lottery. Detroit just had their two worst seasons of all-time, getting 17 and 14 total wins, and fell to 5th both times.

For a team to be this unlucky and you to blame their strategy, is wildly insensitive!

Not to mention, none of their moves suggested they will shoot for the moon aka 30 wins. Hide your children, Tobias Harris is in the house!

But to be honest, they are young, they get rid of Monty, who I think actually tried to get fired, they will win more than 14 games. But someone please tell the Pistons that shooting skill is important in this sport, Sasser might be the only guy who is at least average at shooting a ball.

He should and will be gifted to the Jazz if they decide to trade Markkanen and tank.

Either the Jazz or Nets are going to win the lottery this year, I'd be shocked if the NBA lets him go to any other team.

I mean....if we're playing the "gifted/rigged draft" cards, i'd be certain that the Bulls win the Lotto...a big market team, finally moving into the tankathon, the league "can't afford to have them continously miss the playoffs" lol

Its not wild take, I think most scouts said or would say that there is definitely real posibility someone outpaces him, its a very strong year. But as of right now, he is #1. Barrett also was clear #1 before college, ended up third.

What's his NBA projection/comparison? Sounds like he could be the next great NBA player.

I don't know if he's 6'10" because standing next to Bam who's 6'9", Cooper looks slightly shorter. I think he's 6'8". Which is still tall for someone with his skillset.

13 is Bam. 31 is cooper.

Except Bam is standing a good a half a foot further out to the basket than Flagg is, which would mean they are the same height or Flagg is taller.

Yeah, Collier was number 1 last year and was drafted 29th. Perhaps not as clear-cut a #1, but these drops do happen. Some guys just don't look as good at the next level.

If Reinsdorf wasn't your owner I think the league would do more to make things easier for the Bulls. I'd like to see the Bulls be good again though, I'd be happy if you guys won the lottery. Basically impossible to guess height from photos where the subjects are standing at different depth points. Might as well say the ref is 7'8" and AD is 9 feet tall compared to Flagg.

Nets make sense but that's a big market that won't have any issues attracting talent if they can afford it. I could say the same about Chicago but I haven't seen any actual big stars go there.

It was obvious that Wemby would end up on the Spurs and I think if the Jazz decided to tank then it's a foregone conclusion they'll be gifted the #1 pick.

Sure, they framed it with that hedge of it being a "good" draft, but how often is that really the case. These drafts are never as bad as pundits think they are, or never as good with really only a few outlier exceptions. You'll typically get your standard 4 or 5 all stars with little deviation by class. Hell these days they get a lot more wrong drafting at younger ages. That's why you get MVP's like Giannis and Jokic drafted where they are.

With generational talents there is little thought that they would ever be the 2nd pick. Like none. You would know you were in the "Shaq Sweepstakes" even when the same draft had Alonzo Mourning or one of the best college players ever in Christian Laetneer. You knew who the prize was.

You can really count the number of years that's been happening. Like Ewing, Shaq, Duncan, LeBron, AD, Wemby, seem like the list I would say that were on their own Tier as generational all timers, where it was their draft and everyone knew it. A lot of people are talking Flagg up like they did LeBron which is insane IMO. At least the real NBA scouts have an open mind, and if your open mind is he might not be drafted 1 over Ace Bailey and VJ Edgcombe today then you aren't the next generational player.

If this was soccer and you're talking about players being several feet away from each other and the distance to the camera and height of the camera perspective is an issue i.e. with off-side video reviews. I don't think it's a knock on Flagg. Traore, Bailey, Harper are also very good prospects and could wind up #1 with strong years. I think it would be an upset if Flagg wasn't the number one pick next year but it's a long time between now an the draft.

I don't really have set in stone expectations of Flagg yet. Since there's typically limited footage (beyond mixtapes/highlights) of high school players, I never feel a strong sense of anything besides how much more big and athletic they are than a normal high school kid. His physical tools are pretty impressive. Crazy fluid hips on defense, really quick hops. I'll see him in college and form an opinion then.

I think you're misremembering Josh McRoberts though, or your evaluation at the time was off. McRoberts was a sick run & jump athlete, but even in high school scouts were worried about his lack of general mobility. He wasn't quick. Many projected him as a likely defensive liability at the NBA level. He was really skilled, had stand out BBIQ, and threw down some wild dunks, but he wasn't a generational athlete the way some seem to think Flagg is.
