Too good of role players just sitting around for us to 1, be wasting spots on Bryant Love etc. and 2 for free agency to seem so dead right now. wtf is going on?

We can deal Rozier next year when he’s an expiring contract. Tyus and Butler are also friends. Our bigs would flourish with Tyus at the point.
100% agree.
The only hiccup would be the possibility of Herro having to go to WAS and play with Poole or Kuzma
Maybe a Duncan move? But that still wouldn't solve the Herro issue
Duncan, J Rich, and 2031 2nd to make the deal happen. They both equal 22.4 million. We are currently 9 million over the first apron but need to fall under it to make the S&T work. Can offer Tyus a deal starting near 13 million which is an MLE deal essentially. This puts us under the first apron after deal and hard caps us at the apron

Don't see them bringing anything other than a sure-fire play in spot

Giannis 2021- were in position to sign him before Bam max, no one else available of note
Lowry trade- was a dud, yet look at OKC with CP3 .Bad luck.
In mix for KD, in mix for Dame (requesting here and only here)
Plenty of chances to improve that haven’t broken our way. Isn’t for a lack of vision or planning.
You can argue that in Riley's Heat career that he's given more bad contracts than whales received.
I love Pat, I love this team, but you can argue it
You can argue it, but it’s shortsighted. All bad contracts refrenced by most are post Lebron and Boshs career ending injury. Events that send most organizations into half decade long rebuilds. Even so, post 2016 there’s been 2 Finals appearances and 3 ECF appearances.
This organization has always built contenders this way. They compete, they don’t rebuild. When it works we’re contenders, when it fails we scrap with the best of them.

They are both working tirelessly to improve and make a Great Leap Forward, as ordained by our fearless leader, the infallible and most distinguished Chairman Pat.

No way in hell should we extend that contract.. that would be all time dumb. Trade him to a contender.. i bet we can get two firsts and some contracts that expire by 2026 ..
If the season isn't going as we hoped for. By the mid season, i expect we do trade him to a contender. I'm kinda intrigued about the season cuz it could very well be the end of Jimmy era

ah yes
run it back. because this team was so close to winning a championship last season, that a healthy terry rozier and jimmy would have meant banner #4

I want Herro traded but he's a worker, of course he's working on getting better. He's already going into his 6th season meaning he's only 2 summers away from demanding a new extension with a much higher salary cap.

Best best case scenario time if you want to be a negative Nelly -
-Healthy Terry and Jimmy
-Bam enters his prime post-Team USA and becomes a top 10 player
-Come to Jesus meeting with Herro and he locks in and has a 23-25 ppg year
-Jaime and Jovic both take another step forward. Jaime looked at as 6MOY candidate and formidable starter in games Jimmy misses
- Duncan, in a contract year (essentially), continues his play from last year
-Larsson and Keshad are older rookies and play serviceable end of bench roles
-Burks buys into culture as bench spark
-Ware has a couple big games
At the end of the day I’d take Bam over any player on the Knicks

Knowing how things played out, with a healthy Jimmy in the first round, I think we could have taken Boston. What you said actually isn’t that far fetched. Still, I have no interest in running it back.

Any S&T trade we make hard caps us at the first apron of 178 so things are a bit trickier then I expected with trying to give Tyus Jones a salary starting at about 12.8. If we were to trade Duncan and J Rich we could technically meet that number but won't have any more money to spend since we would be pressed up against the hard capped first apron.

Something that hasn’t really been discussed is Niko’s future.
What are your thoughts on the team extending Niko with a max offer after next season? If the max is too much, what number or percentage of the cap do you think is the appropriate amount for him?
Also, are you sold on the schematics of a future Niko, Bam, Ware starting front court?

99% of every transactional idea discussed isn’t happening so being reticent on what the vision of team should be would apply across the board if that was indeed the standard.
Yes, but most of those imaginary transactions involve players who are likely to move or or possibly available. You think Celtics fans are debating about Tatum trades? We can talk about Jimmy trades, but Bam not happening as time soon
Example doesn’t work because Bam is no way Tatem’s equivalent.
Every GM would build a team around Tatem. The same is not true of Bam.
In a post Jimmy era, unless someone else develops or the team acquires a star, Bam would get recasted from a #2ish/ #3 to the role of “the man.”
I’d like to explore the idea of which reality is better: Bam as the 1A franchise player or trading him for a trove of picks
