Thanks for posting that. Unfortunately I do see why he's being comped to Troy Murphy. But I'm not going to discount a big who can shoot so hopefully he can provide something for a few minutes a game. Still don't feel comfortable going into the season with TJD, Loon, Post as our centers.

I feel like the Dubs just like to tease the idea of a big man on the roster. The Dubs already had a servicable 7 footer in Neemias Queta and then cut him.

That is OK as long as Post destroys Smiley back in return. And don’t forget Smiley had 12 years of G-leage experience.

Smiley was not complete trash. He was a legitimate borderline NBA player who probably could make the new expanded 17 man rosters.

Quinten post did not play much at Missisppi State. He did play 3 years at BC but only played 30 minutes per game his last year. He is not as experienced as Trayce Davis was when he was drafted. Quiten Post should probably spend a few months in G-league before trying to be a useful NBA player.

I think I want to pick up a NBA garbage heap big man who I will waive in February to give Quinten Post a big club NBA team roster spot

Kyle Anderson could be our starting center by mid-season, if not sooner.

Kyle Anderson frees Draymond up to play more center but I don’t think Anderson will play center.

I don't think people realize how big KA actually is. He's 6'8" barefoot 230 lbs (that was at the combine a decade ago, probably 240+ now) with a 9' standing reach and 7'3" wingspan. He's basically Looney sized. Even down to the tremendous shoulders.

Looney had a bad season and maybe his college hip injury was acting up, but 2022 championship Looney was an average starting center or better despite not being able to jump or block shots. Trayce can jump and block shots. Draymond can bother opposing centers for 10 minutes per game. Quinten Post probably won’t play as a rookie but might be like a big center version of Saric or Brook Lopez a couple years from now.

Not really so horrible for our weakest position if Looney who is not old can return to playing like he did in 2022.

They could not sign him. What if marques bolden is better than him?

It's easy to waive 2-ways if you want to replace them.

But that’s why I was asking if this was confirmed because I didn’t see anything.

I would love Troy Murphy but I don’t see it. Post is bigger than Murphy and has legitimate 3 point range.

Murphy was more mobile than Post, more of a good deep mid range fairly high volume good chucker. Murphy was a better inside scorer.
Murphy was more aggressive and more physical and more gritty.

My Frankenstein witches brew formula for Quinten Post is 4 parts Saric, 2 parts Troy Murphy, 1 part Tacko Fall and because he is slightly chubby 1 part Mel Turpin.

Not official, but the RealGM Wiretap has:
The Golden State Warriors plan to sign Quinten Post to a Two-Way contract. Post, who is represented by George Roussakis, was the 52nd overall pick in the 2024 draft out of Boston College.

Edit: From a Slater story today: "Quinten Post, the second-round pick, is currently ticketed for a two-way contract, team sources said. There is no financial room under the hard cap for a 15th man."

Looney’s old injuries could be flaring up. Bad news if true.

Trying to be optimistic though. My guess is that after the Lakers series he decided to bulk up. Did a lousy job of it and ended up too small AND too slow.

Which is why I object to the push to sign a big stiff.
This movie is like the Rocky Horror Picture Show where everyone knows all the lines.

I think loon fits with certain people within a specific unit. He can fill in defensive cracks, but cant plug a big hole. He needs the right people in front him where he can use his head to make a read rather than his body to make a play.
