Re: Sixers Offseason Thread Part 4
I think a Bona + Embiid lineup is more likely than Drummond + Embiid. Bona seems to have the athleticism to defend the perimeter if required. Could be similar to Boston's recent double big lineups with Bona filling the Timelord role.

Re: Sixers Offseason Thread Part 4
I would never want Embiid and Drummond on the court at the same time. Drummonds minutes need to be used to help prevent the huge drop off when Embiid sits.

I'm glad he's getting paid.
Ironic prediction: Reed's the player for whom we'll trade KJ Martin's ballooned contract come February.

With him being a Philly guy I'd ordinarily suppose that he'd choose us easily. But I guess seniors do like that dry heat.
He was also from Philadelphia when he chose the Miami Heat over the Sixers.

Mine was a flip comment. But thanks for the history lesson.

He didn't chose the Heat over the Sixers either, he got waived lol
I just don't see why he would go to the Suns if the money is the same as what he would get here.

I think he was talking about 2021, but that was a S&T with Miami giving Toronto Dragic and Achiuwa.
And if you'll recall, Toronto was reported to have wanted Maxey plus draft picks in exchange for Lowry.
So, yeah, it's not exactly as if Lowry dissed his hometown back then.

How much does KJ Martin have to make in order to trade for Lauri Markkanen come the trade deadline. Especially if the Jazz are tanking hard for Cooper Flag?

$15m for KJ + one vet min is enough to match Lauri’s contract.

Oh well yes, but he got 85 million over 3 years from Miami, our cap situation didn't allow us to give that kind of money, so it was never a realistic option.
And about the Maxey stuff, yeah, at the end of the day the move was more about flexibility IMO. It was reported Lowry wanted around 30 million a year (close to what he ended up getting), so basically it was a hard capping move for a guy we would not be able to resign anyway.

That part is definitely true, but Drummond can play more than 20mpg.

If Drummond plays more than 20mpg, our season has gone off the rails.

I'm not really sure there's a point to trying to match that salary in the hopes of getting Markannen - literally every other team interested in Markannen (Golden State, San Antonio, etc.) have a better package of players and picks to offer in trade than we can even if we literally hand them every tradable pick we have - and Danny Ainge has been asking for a godfather/Rudy Gobert level deal in exchange for him. I think that trading for Markannen is basically a pipe dream. Unless for some reason Lauri randomly decides that he needs to force his way to Philly, I don't see any viable offer that can be made that can't be easily topped by any number of teams.

Re: Sixers Offseason Thread Part 4
Not a chance in hell Drummond plays with Embiid. That would be the slowest frontcourt in the league by a mile.
Drummond came here because i think the idea is to have a Giannis-esque aproach with Embiid where he plays 34 mpg, giving him a solid 16 mpg, that's the same he was playing in a **** team like the Bulls.
Also Embiid is going to sit/be injured in around 30 games, thats nearly half a season starting for a contender.
It was always a great fit for him to come here.

I don't think that is entirely true. Golden State hasn't been willing to add Kuminga in any packages, and if they aren't offering him, then whatever they are offering, isn't any better than what the 76ers can offer. (Not that I really want Markennin either way)

Actually if you ask me which Center I want for my perfect championship caliber team, I will chose Asik hands down

Basketball analytics, the internet, electric cars, computers the telephone, space flight at one time or another all considered the domain of the nerds. So I ask you what's wrong with nerdy stuff ?
