Brooklyn Nets have entered the chat.
Detroit is still a mess with a bunch of non-shooters.
Washington traded out Deni and could move Kuzma, so they say hello here.
Charlotte is still Charlotte.
Portland improved with their trade and draft though, so there's that.
Maybe the Jazz can be bottom of the West.

Jazz already achieved the worst defense in NBA - and by good margin. . With some persistence and ingenuity with that margin they can easily be at the very bottom. Of course to trade LM will help. As for Kessler, he is young, he will be frustrated and then sulking. No way he will to play his defense in new Jazz culture

The Jazz have a secret weapon they can deploy: Playing Kessler and Collins together. Looking into the data on Cleaning the Glass when we play those two together we're awful. In fact, when we play Collins, Kessler, Lauri, Sexton, and Keyonte together so our four best players and Collins we have the 12 worst 5 man lineup in the entire NBA last year... and that wasn't our worst lineup!

So, the odds of us getting a bottom three really come down to how much stomach do we have for playing the supersized, super awful lineup?

Draft Nate Wolters - FAILED
Keep Nate Wolters - FAILED

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

Honestly, the odds are not in our favor, there are way worse teams that will tank really hard.

Having said that, The Jazz should tank as much as they can. Gee let's not start winning so many games in the beginning like we did the last couple of years. That would be really stupid, the draft is loaded, and we should get at least one of those valuable pics.
