Re: JB Bickerstaff Press Conference (12:30pm ET)
Trajan not messing around about the time. He's talking at 12:30 on the dot lol.
He was probably so pissed about his intro press conference getting delayed an hour.

First impressions of JB are very good. He seems to have thoughtful responses and is fired up. Never felt that way with Monty.

Re: JB Bickerstaff Press Conference (12:30pm ET)
Loved hearing JB talk about getting Ivey the ball on the move.
He seems like he wants to coach, and he has some idea of the strengths of the players already, so it's already a massive upgrade over Monty. He talked about already doing a deep-dive on the guys on the team and you just know Monty wasn't doing any of that.

This is 100% spot on. Between Weaver/Monty, all the energy got sucked out of the room.Moses ShamMoses wrote:First impressions of JB are very good. He seems to have thoughtful responses and is fired up. Never felt that way with Monty.
JB has fire, and passion. What I can't wait for is to have a coach who will actually challenge a call, amd maybe pick up a tech for his players.
Monty just didn't give a damn.

After being an hour later last time, I had a feeling they'd be right on time. Nice.
JB seems enthusiastic. I'll probably watch it again (was reading the livestream simultaneously, which is impossible)

Wow. We had a zombie and a corpse. Now we have a vampire and a werewolf. Our undead are improving.
(Not sure what inspired this line of thought, but Monty was definitely a corpse of a coach while in Detroit)

Re: JB Bickerstaff Press Conference (12:30pm ET)
Not gonna lie this presser has me stoked on the hire of both JB and TL. Unified vision, direction, spoke on culture, identity and hard work. For once solid questions from our local media who normally gives all "lobs" at pressers, there were a few specific targetted questions on 2 big lineups, ivey and cade, balance of youth and vets, etc

Re: JB Bickerstaff Press Conference (12:30pm ET)
JB is excited to work with Cade for sure. Coming from 2 midget guards, to a team where everyone is 6'7 or bigger is a huge change. Even Ivey is 6'4.
Good presser. He seems to actually understand what the hell is going on.
Not gonna get hyped until we start seeing actual results, but all this sounds good.

Re: JB Bickerstaff Press Conference (12:30pm ET)
Monty came in and was almost somber in his 1st press conference and it being about the money. JB you can tell is a great communicator but also talks about the two things I love to here about effort and selflessness on the basketball court. Talks about how no one will be down next year because he will be right there to lift them up. Feels like he is already very invested in turning this around. Feels like more than just salesman talk. Makes me want to go bet $100 on the over.

Re: JB Bickerstaff Press Conference (12:30pm ET)
So far so good. A breath of fresh air is the best way I can describe it (JB & Trajan).
The way he spoke about Ivey & Stew made me feel like they’d be around to start the season.
I couldn’t imagine Trajan getting an offer that he can’t refuse unless the Knicks are desperate to replace I-Heart and send our pick back for Stew.

JB might be coach the guys you have kinda coach and stay arms length from personel decisions.
Ivey ans Stew on the team now so he plots and plans how to best use them.

Re: JB Bickerstaff Press Conference (12:30pm ET)
Yeah I wouldn't read anything into what the new coach says about players with respect to the likelihood they get moved.
I think it's very possible none of them get moved anyway.

I just started to watch, not even past TL's opening comments yet, but he alluded to some crazy hoops he made JB jump through before saying "we don't need to talk about that".
I'm curious what those hoops were.

Did you ever see the scene in Old School where they're all standing on top of the roof with a brick in their hands?

Re: JB Bickerstaff Press Conference (12:30pm ET)
It's just a press conference, but it was a good press conference for both of them.
Anyway, doesn't sound like a trade for ivey is imminent given how much attention he got. JB seemed pretty committed to more of a staggered minutes approach to him + cade, which should be obvious to anyone but somehow escaped monte.
Probably most important, ausar was practicing today and cleared for full bb activities. If goal #1 for bickerstaff is to get the team playing hard nosed, competitive defense and making smart, unselfish plays.... ausar is going to be right in the middle of that.
