Maybe. I heard a rumor they want to make a trade for star (e.g. KD). Not sure if true or not.

That is more interesting than this.
How about this idea

Rockets
Out: Eason, Brooks, Adams
In: Ingram, Martin

Sixers:
Out: Martin, '26 OKC FRP, '28 LAC FRP, '29 LAC FRP Swap
In: Eason

Pelicans:
Out: Ingram
In: Brooks, Adams, '26 OKC FRP, '28 LAC FRP, '29

Rockets get an upgrade in Ingram and get off Adams expensive contract. Pelicans get a center and a setup roster to start Murphy with a decent Brooks on the bench with a decent assets. Sixers get a starting PF that fits right in.

Sixers get Eason
Rockets get KJ Martin, '26 OKC 1st, '28 LAC 1st, '29 LAC 1st Swap

That clippers 1st is too valuable to spend it on Eason, who is a good young player.

I like Tari Eason, but this is an overpay and Rockets would be foolish to pass. They have too many good players and not enough great ones, and stockpiling assets to be used in a future trade for a star would be a smart move.

Philly can’t trade S&T Martin until December or else they would be hard capped.

I would definitely take that if I’m Houston given that you have an entrenched starter at the 4 in Jabari, and they can’t pay everyone anyways so this is a way to extract a ton of value out of one of their young players. I think Eason can be (already is) a really valuable role player but I don’t see the star upside that would have the Rockets really kicking themselves for letting him go. If I’m Philly this seems a little rich and I’m not sure I would blow my asset load on Tari, but he is a good fit and could grow with the team

I agree-that's an awesome offer for Hou (I REALLY wanted Eason to slip one spot to my Bulls in the draft-we got DTerry!!)
That Clip pick is very nice. JSmtih is the longterm starter at the 4, and Whitmore can play there too. I doubt Philly gives up so much for a solid role player

doctor him wrote:I’m sure I’m missing something here, but why exactly is this Eason fellow worth more than 3 1st round picks?

I’m sure he’s a good player and the Houston faithful value him highly, but he’s not an all star (nor do I see him on the cusp of becoming one).

So if he’s worth 3 1sts then actual stars like Markennen must be worth 6. (Though the offers for him are actually around 3 1sts.)

It's 2 1sts and a swap, the swap is also protected (and is a bit ambiguous, because it was swap between PHI and LAC, how do you export it to HOU?)
Not all 1sts are equal...
The 26 1st the Sixers have is about as bad as it gets in terms of 1sts, worst 1st of multiple teams, both far away pick and guaranteed to be late, it isn't major value in a trade for significant player (either good vet or promising young), but sweetener.
The 28 Clippers is a great, about as good as you can get for a 1st, far in the future of a veteran team, who already traded away all of their pick in between, very good chance of a great pick.
The swap is top 3 protected, but I have is as valuable (more than the 26 pick)

I do have this as overpay, but, not egregious enough to prevent PHI from doing it if they like Eason.
Defense wins draft lotteries!

It's a good offer but unless there was a star player we could legitimately land that we could reroute those picks to, it makes little sense to deal Eason at this point. At the moment there isn't really one on the market, so it's a no for me.

If the Suns were blowing it up, and Book was on the market, I could see the value in dealing Eason to Philly for this package then rerouting them to the Suns on top of all of their picks that Houston owns.

That is kind of my feeling as well. I really like Eason but damn that clipper pick and swap could be pretty special.

Why is Philly trading a better player for a worse one with no incentive attached?

Offers like this of multiple 1sts for a role player who's the apple of peoples' eyes get posted all the time. They don't happen in real life. No one is actually offering a package like this for Tari Eason. If someone did, HOU would take it and run.

How did we go from Kevin Durant to Brandon Ingram? Is it 2016? Are we still drinking the Ingram Kool-Aid?

Remember when Deni was worth more than the first pick overall? Remember when not a single person who made that claim posted in the official trade thread despite having posted in every single fictional trade thread? :D

I'm a Sixers fan. They need a PF that can do the dirty work with low usage that doesnt cost a ton of money (around $15M or less). Sixers have a lot of assets, but looking at the landscape, there doesn't seem a lot options. Seems like DFS and Eason could be the best. Based on responses and the Deni trade, it sounds whatever option will cost less than I expected. Or there's an option out there that's better that I'm missing.

Love Eason but three firsts is an overpay. There's not enough minutes in Houston for all the good kids they have and a couple will shake free sooner rather than later.

Nobody on the team should be averaging over 35 minutes per game this upcoming season. There's minutes to be spread for a 9 or 10 man rotation.
