Best free agents available
PG Tyus Jones
SG Gary Trent Jr.
SF Saddiq Bey
PG Spencer Dinwiddie
SF Gordon Hayward
SF Isaac Okoro
C Paul Reed............N/A
C Precious Achiuwa
SG Lonnie Walker
PG Kyle Lowry
SF Robert Covington
PG Dennis Smith Jr
So IF these are the best remaining unsigned free agents, which one or two would/ should we aggressively target with our last roster spot? Which two should we target if we waive Roddy and don't bring back Okogie (redundant with Dunn) and really, would only be useful as a larger salary trade asset due to us being able to offer him around 12 million for potential salary matching in trades.
I think for my part, I'd choose to decline Roddy, not bring back Okogie in order to open up two final roster spots?
Roddy is under contract so you can't 'decline' him. You could cut him or trade him but he's on the books.
And Bey, Lowry, Reed are all off the board
Wasn't/ isn't Roddy on a team contract though??

My understanding was that a team can decline a player on a team option. Was his option picked up recently or something man?

2024-25: Club Option (deadline 10/31/23, exercised 10/23/23)
..........................Never mind! I see that they picked it up back on October 23rd. Still, I would've waived/stretched him IF I couldn't line up a trade for him to create an open spot for a better-fitting option!
