Holy cow, is this what it's like to have a good team? You get in major discussions about who might be a 3rd string PG if you have a major injury to the #1 PG. This is better than talking about Andrew's 6th rookie year.

To be fair, it matters more when the starter is 37, and the backup is a 19 year old rookie ;). But your point is well taken :)

I wonder how worried our fan base was about the third-stringer in 1996 when our PG rotation was a 19-year old and a 33-year old...

I say we were so worry about the PG situation that we traded away Ray Allen to draft a PG. That urgency to develop a PG in turn led to Gugliotta sign with Suns. Consequently, ended with an unfulfilled KG Twolves career. KG eventually did win a NBA title with Allen, so I do worry about the right PG a lot. Third string PG was actually the least of the worries because it's KG.

In years when we have picks/young guys, absolutely. I remember the couple years we had Craig Smith, McCants, Foye, and Brewer, and we were just rolling teams in summer league. Usually until those guys would get pulled after 2-3 games, and then we’d get crushed.

Yep. This year though, I believe there's a combination of guys who need opportunities to play plus a decent core of Iowa guys behind the Minnesota guys. I think another important aspect is having good guards. Guard play is often a separator in Vegas.

Ant and Jaden were drafted together and went through a lot together. Now it’s Rob and TJ’s turn. I have hope that the two will develop not just a friendship, but an on court chemistry that will lead to great things for many years to come. That starts in a couple hours, but hopefully ends in multiple championships alongside Anthony Edwards.

Love the fact that Dillingham isn't trying to press anything while he has TJ just having his way on the court. He's just setting up the O and giving it to TJ.

Well wolves missed some shots they should have made, I like that they are at least trying to run an offense while Pelicans are just jacking three point shots every damn time.

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
