Jazz Believed To Prefer Brandin Podziemski Over Jonathan Kuminga On Lauri Markkanen Talks With Warriors

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri Jul 12, 2024 6:43 pm

Brandin Podziemski projects to be a starter with the Golden State Warriors next season after a productive rookie season in which he was an All-Rookie First Team selection. In 74 games last season, Podziemski averaged 9.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 26.6 minutes.

But with the Warriors interested in trading for Lauri Markkanen, a situation could arise where Podziemski is a deal-breaker in getting a deal done for the Utah Jazz.

"Educated speculation, I think Podziemski would have to be in the deal," said Tim MacMahon on the Lowe Post podcast. "Obviously, you're talking about a ton of picks. I don't know how much the Jazz would press on Kuminga. I do think if Podziemski is not in the deal, there wouldn't be a deal."

Podziemski is on a rookie contract through 26-27, whereas Jonathan Kuminga is eligible for an extension this offseason with the larger contract figure beginning in 25-26. Podziemski is represented by David Mondress, Bill Duffy, while Kuminga is represented by Aaron Turner
