Yes, there's probably an overreaction, like there always is when a team wins a championship. Boston won under very fortunate circumstances. They're still not overly proven as legit 1-yr champs, let alone perenially.

The Bucks still can have the best in the series, & 2 other top 5's minimum. If that was fit around well, we should even be the favorites. If we steal Trent, that might be enough. Or we could deal Bobby for a startable 2, then maybe replace him w/ Achiuwa. Get more "versatile" on d.

It doesn't require a blow-up or we're not coming out of the east. And too much of a blow-up, then Giannis leaves.

Dude i dont know that same roster smoked the Cs 2xs last year once by 30 points another by 14..I actually think if tbe big 3 were healthy thry very well could of beat tbe Cs.You mske it sound like ghis team was 500 they won 49 games with their big 3 playing together only 13xs.This is mid to upper 50 win team if healthy easily as the roster stands now. This trio was #1 in basketball in O rating .I absolutely think they can challenge boston

But look at the big picture. This team can never stay healthy and what makes you think this year as old as we are that we all of a sudden can?

Terrance Shannon just ate Yves Missi’s soul.

Terrance Shannon is going to be very good.

EDIT: I now realize this is the wrong thread for this, but… god damn he is the best player out there by a wide margin. On both ends.

Toronto wanted him to be their 6th man last year and offered him $15mil per year to return this summer, now he can’t even get the mle.

Not sure you're helping your case. 15m is still a lot of $. It's starter-level comfortably. Almost all players around that # right now are starters, or could be on another team.

He fits more as a starter on a winning team, unlike Toronto. But winning teams don't typically have space to sign other team's players to that much $, especially after the apron rules.

It's a hard no on giving up a 1st to facilitate his acquisition. But c'mon, he's superior to Prince in a vacuum, let alone for our purposes where we need a starting 2 while Prince is more of a 4.

$15mil is a paycut for Trent and the mle is just over $13mil this year. He is in the 12th percentile in ISOs and 54th percentile in PnR. He’s just a guy. 3&D and average at best at D. Decent bench guy sure

No clue what you’re talking about, but PJ Washington was always seen as the guy everyone wanted to rescue from Charlotte. He signed a big extension with them last offseason.

Taurean Prince is on his 3rd pay cut in the last 3 years. Minnesota opted out, Lakers gave him the bi annual, and now he’s playing for the league minimum.

I've never heard anybody talk about "rescuing" PJ from Charlotte. Usually you save that term for stars. Washington has been a replacement level player his whole career. He actually fit well with the mediocrity that is the Hornets

And I'd much rather have Prince/Wright on the minimum than pay Washington 16m/yr for next 3 years. Not even close

That stat line would be a relief.

I'm still so pissed at Horst for passing on him.

He should be. He played 146 games between the Big 12 and Big 10, and he's two weeks from turning 24.

There’s always the possibility that at some point he’ll get banned from the league for Malik Beasley-esque behavior

When does the Jaylen Brown trade happen and when can we swoop in and snatch him like Boston did with Jrue?

For me, I’m just excited for matching up against the Knicks this year. Giannis is their bogeyman. We need to play them in the playoffs.

Shannon and AJJ defense on the wings would have been fun.

Terrance Shannon is the same age as Zion, who was drafted more than 5-years ago lol.

Yea, if only the league were made up of nothing but 19-22 year olds that Shannon pick might help win a few games.
