Considering the Knicks have more flexibility now to re-sign Mikal to the same deal next year and possibly Randle as well, plus still be able to make moves to while being under the 2nd apron…I’d say there’s a lot of untapped earning potential for Brunson if the Knicks manage to win a ring in this window.
Brunson’s game doesn’t rely heavily on athleticism either. I’m sure he’d figure it out even if he lost a step. He looked a step slow the entire playoffs with an injured foot and still dropped 35-40 on the regular.
His game relies on quickness that gives him all those shifty moves. Once he loses that, he's not getting around people.
His game relies more on his elite ball-handling and footwork more so than his quickness.
His foot speed, quickness is what he relies on. It's that quickness I'm talking about.
