Twitter appears to be pivoting from Trent to Walker and I’m here for it lol

Is that because Lonnie followed AJ Johnson and Marjon on IG recently? I saw that photo/screenshot floating around on Twitter but didn't think much of it.

I don’t understand not liking this. I love basketball. Competitive basketball is even more fun. The Cup last year brought more competitiveness. More fun! I’m not going to complain about that

It's a tournament. It's another discrete thing you can win.

If you're a championship absolutist, you should still be agnostic about the NBA Cup, because everything that isn't the Finals doesn't matter anyway.

Tell me what's not generic about it? Its literally dressed up November RS games and the courts were legitimate eyesores. Lipstick on a pig.

It's hard to believe that's a coincidence. I suppose they could have randomly trained together.

They have the Ham connection like Prince.

He'd be a solid minimum signing, in a vacuum. But for our needs, it's dissatisfying. Still doesn't solve our POA issues next to Dame. It'd be a half measure. After Trent went, ideally we'd trade Bobby for a better 2, & replace him w/ Achiuwa.

The courts were admittedly hideous but the gameplay was so much better than usual regular season games. Maybe an aberration but for one year they actually got players to play hard in the regular season for the tournament. I will gladly watch the tournament again.

The bolded part I think was the biggest thing. The players seemed to genuinely want to win more than just a random regular season game. The quality of the games imo was much better

No. Still think they should have found a way to switch out 2/3's of khris brook and bobby

Thats great in theory but in reality im very sure that we tried very hard and because no move was made i can only assume that the market was not hot for brook and bobby. khris is a whole other thing, who knows if they ever wanted to move him.

My point is, it probably was not possible to do (without making us worse). So getting Gary Trent jr. Under those parameters is absolutely great.

I think I'd rather just see what we've got with the guys on the roster than bring in Lonnie Walker.

Yeah I would be underwhelmed as well but he could be a nice bench player for us. Probably not a playoff guy though. Open competition I guess for the 2

No there are 3 accounts that I’ve seen various things from but they aren’t media so not going to post them here. They seem convinced that Trent is signing with the sixers and that we have interest in Walker. I would prefer that we sign younger big with our last spot but eh. Trent would be a solid add if he could transform himself into KCP but I think there is maybe less than a 10% chance of that. I think that Walker, when healthy, is a guy that can create his own shot and thats something that we just don’t have outside of the big 3 so it would be nice to have a guy that might be able to step up when one of our old farts misses time, again, in the playoffs.

Portis for Lyles/McD/'27 1st floated on the T&T board. Don't love the idea of Kessler nor do I want to use a 1st to get off of Connaughton, but just a thought:

MKE: Thybulle, Kessler
SAC: Portis
UTA: Connaughton, SAC '27 1st (lottery protected)
PDX: Lyles, McDaniels, MKE '31 1st (lottery protected)

Would open up the TMLE for a guy like Achiuwa.

Lillard / Wright
Thybulle / Green / Jackson
Middleton / Prince
Giannis / Achiuwa
Lopez / Kessler

At this point I’m not waiting any big news. Just another random min signing, which will put Bucks deeper in the 2nd apron. If I count it right it will be for 4.165 mil, which means Bucks can still avoid the 2nd apron later in the deadline easier dumping these min contracts with cash.

My suggestion is that if Bucks end up keeping Pat, they should start him. Doc should also follow the one thing Grif did right in his short stint. Play the young players in these meaningless RS games.

Dame/Johnson/Wright
Pat/Jackson/Green
Midds/Marjon/Prince
Giannis/Smith/Livingston
Brook/Bobby/Vet

I prefer this route. Pat is the best choice in the current roster for the low usage/glue guy open spot in the starting 5. Go full Bobby with the 2nd unit and unleash the rookies.

Am sure there are plenty of teams who’d bet a future Kings first will end up juicy.

Flier on Markelle Fultz?

Eric Nehm listed him as an option:

If the Bucks believe they can help him stay healthy, Fultz may be an interesting option. The 26-year-old guard is not a 3-point shooter, but he can put pressure on the rim on offense and help the Bucks improve at the point of attack on defense. At 6 foot 4 and 209 pounds with a 6-foot-9 wingspan, Fultz could help the Bucks with positional size and give them another tough perimeter defender.

He finished the year healthy but his season was derailed by a weird thing with his knee:
