I think the better question for Sarr is if he has the potential to be better than Mobley. I see similarities in guys who would like to be elite defensive stretch 4's but are probably better suited as 5's.

Looks like he’s trying too hard to tuck his elbow, as long as his hand is aligned with his elbow at the release point it shouldn’t matter as much.

Biggest issue with this dude is that he's soft. Especially on offense and on the boards. Defense looks great, shot looks decent enough.

Needs a big man coach, Sarr is soft and allergic to contact inside and prefers to fade-away rather than draw fouls going to the basket or scoring on a shorter defender, all correctable if he has the dog in him to do it. As a prospect his ceiling is sky high and his first outing was a good one, after he fills-out and has consistent NBA minutes, he is going to be good.

I appreciated Dawkins noting he needs to work harder on the glass. Clearly that will be in his little checklist of things to work on. Otherwise a decent debut, with both his shortcomings and assets on display. Good start for the kid.

Side note: Djurisic ran over Carrington earlier in the game, knocked him into the scorers table, obliterated Omoyuri, and did the same to Sarr. Not once, did anyone on the Wizards say anything or get in the guys face.

Alex needs to get stronger and as Will Dawkins said get on the boards.

But I was impressed with his reads out of the pocket on the pick and roll where he was able to make dime passes. He should have had some more assists. Doris Burke and Mark Jones were highlighting that on the ESPN telecast.

The off the dribble 3s are a good weapon. He will get better with more reps.

And the rim protection was excellent last night. The switching on the perimeter too.

Long as his brain doesn't resemble either one, there's still hope. Their problems weren't due to their talent level.

My biggest takeaway is Sarr has a quick processor. He can make quick reads offensively and react in an instant defensively. That bodes well. I think he's right in that Evan Mobley, Jaren Jackson Jr mix because like them he can bring immediate defensive value from day one. A little lighter on rebounding right now but potentially can offer more versatility and skill offensively.

Sarr hitting two off-the-dribble 3-pointers was pretty exciting, but I still felt his form looked a little sloppy. That's not yet a shot I want him taking in real games just yet. Right now, I'm more concerned about him learning to nail catch-and-shoot 3's reliably. That's what he'll need to do in order to space the floor at PF while JV plays center. It's really the make-or-break skill for him in the short term. If he can hit that, he'll be a plus player right away. If he can't, he will be an offensive liability at PF, and a rebounding liability if forced to play at center.

Hopefully, he'll get more catch-and-shoot opportunities in upcoming games.

Perhaps it's just me but does anyone see any similarities between Sarr and Chris Bosh?

Bosh was more skilled offensively entering the league but something about the way Sarr moves....

Could just be the body type.
