Clippers Still Need A Power Forward
Gotta keep trying to find a PF for the Clippers. They have 18 players signed and all of them expect to play. They also have nobody to start in the PF position - Batum can handle the role and the team has Kawhi, DJJ and Kobe who can play the role, but for such a well balanced defensive team, they have a serious rebounding problem. In addition, they need to replace PG's shooting.
Would there be any interest in the trade below?
LAC IN = Cam Johnson + Ben Simmons
LAC OUT = Norm Powell + Terrance Mann + Russ Westbrook + Jordan Miller + PJ Tucker
BRK IN = Andrew Wiggins + Terrance Mann + Jordan Miller + PJ Tucker
BRK OUT = Cam Johnson + Ben Simmons
GSW IN = Norm Powell + Russ Westbrook
GSW OUT = Andrew Wiggins
Why for BRK - They get out of Bens deal. They don't have to pay Cam next year. They get three young guys with upside.
Why for GSW - They get more offense to replace Klay. They get Russ. They reduce salary by $3M and get under the apron.
Why for LAC - Cam is the prize here but Ben needs a change of scenery, and he has always been a solid rebounder. Just one year left on his bloated deal and maybe LA would be good for his metal issues. A gamble with major upside and minor downside.
PG = Harden / Dunn / Bones
SG = Cam / KPJ / Christie
SF = Kawhi / DJJ / Coffey
PF = Simmons / Batum / Kobe
C = Zubac / Bamba / Kai
On the off chance that Simmons has a rebound year, this is a very solid and deep team with great offense and defense. A team built for the inevitable injuries by being three deep in every position. Cam can replace PG's scoring quite nicely.
Either way, Clippers need a PF and need to trade Mann, Norm, Russ and Tucker to free up minutes for other players.

Clippers don't have enough room under the Apron to pull this off...

Clippers drop under the luxury tax with this deal. They reduce salary by $1.8M. I don't think they have an apron issue after PG left.

They are already under LT.
Simmons/CamJ --> 63MM $
Powell/PJT/Mann/WB --> 45 MM$
They are hardcapped at 1st Apron after using MLE

My apologies. Damn Fanspo had Cam's salary at $4M. I didn't realize he had re-signed. Not sure which machine actually works.
The Clips still need a PF. Any chance Brooklyn would offer some draft capital to unload just Simmons?

So an offer of Wiggins + Mann + Tucker for Ben Simmons gets zero draft consideration in return?

Re: Clippers Still Need A Power Forward
If the Knicks decide to move off Julius Randle - maybe there could be something interesting here.
This would likely need to be a 3 team trade with other pieces involved - but I can see the appeal of the Knicks turning Randle into Norman Powell and Clint Capela using Precious in a sign and trade to bridge the salary gap. But I think NY would want a FRP here.
From NY's perspective - your playing small ball with Anunoby/Bridges up front with two strong rim protectors in Capela/Mitch for 48 minutes of rim protection while getting an extra ballhandler on the floor with Brunson (DDV starts with Powell off the bench)
Proposed Framework:
LAC: Julius Randle for Norman Powell, PJ Tucker, Draft Capital
NYK: Norman Powell, Clint Capela, Draft Capital from LAC
ATL: PJ Tucker, 2nd rd pick(s) from NYK

PJT/WB/Clippers last remaining 2 2nds for DFS
But I think Kawhi/Batum/DJJ are enough for PF rotation.
Clippers biggest need is backup PG, they can't rely on Bones Hyland and KPJ, that's why they were rumored to chase Tyus Jones.

Definitely a pass from Golden State. We already have plenty of guards who need minutes (Steph, Podziemski, Melton, Hield, GP2 if healthy) so turning one of our few true wings into two more guards isn't very appealing.

If we are losing future cap space with Wiggins we might just need a first going to the Nets.

Randle is #1 on my personal target list. Clips won't give up their 3030 pick lightly but if they would, Randle would be that guy.

And for the Knicks - breaking up Randle into role players isn’t the easiest thing to do, but that unprotected 2030 pick probably gets me there.

Is 29 year old Wiggins the third young guy with upside or is it PJ Tucker? Either way doesn't seem to track.

It wasn’t too long ago that Dallas thought Grant Williams was a worthwhile starting four. I’m still in on that deal..

Clips get Randle
Rockets get PJ Tucker and Powell
Knicks get Brooks and Adams
Shuffle some picks around until everyone is happy but the gist is: Houston pays to unload Dillon with Steven Adams, Clips get pf, Knicks get a center and a dawg.

Mann/Tucker for Collins/Cleveland or Minny 25 FRP/pair of FSRPs.
See if you can get Collins back to playing well.

No way are we using a future first to dump Collins.

I mean, the worst of those two picks is probably going to be around 25+, plus, Mann is also coming back
But I'd fully get why Utah would be hesitant on that.

I can't see why we'd want Mann. The easy solution is Utah can send some 2nds + a third team can send value for Mann. I dont think he's worth a first, so LAC would have to be happy woth Collins and like 4 or 5 2nds. Maybe that works or it doesn't, but that's the most I'd give.
