Re: Lakers-Jazz
I think I'd do this. I have Sexton worth a lightly protected 1st and a better protected one and Kessler worth a lightly protected one in a vacuum. But, these are high variance and lock LA of additional trade opportunities.

That's about right to me, so yeah, I'd probably do it.

Lakers save money here too, right? How much?
Makes for an interesting Laker lineup afterwards

Enough to open the TaxMLE for GTJ
LeBron, Reaves, GTJ, Vando, Davis
Sexton, Christie, Knecht, Rui, Kessler

Sexton and Kessler being young is enough to justify the FRPs I think. It does have a ring of sense to it this trade.

Re: Lakers-Jazz
Yeah Utah could potentially do something like this as long as the protection comes off '27 and '29 also unprotected. Say what you want about Ainge but he's one of the GM's willing to do business with the Lakers. I can also see him pulling out all the stops in order to potentially draft Flagg. The tank starts from Day 1. Feel bad for Lauri as Kessler and Sexton are the only other positive players on that roster but at least he'll be getting an immediate pay raise/renegotiotion. Lauri, Clarkson, Collins, and a bunch of 19-20 yo kids should keep them at the very bottom of the WC this coming season. DLo moved to a 3rd team by the deadline.
As for Lakers a shot blocking defensive presence such a Kessler would be a godsend for Davis. They desperately need an athletic guard who can put some pressure on the rim. Both Kessler and Sexton signed to good contracts the next 2 seasons. Basically 1 future pick would fill 2 holes but they probably still need to find a serviceable 2 way wing albeit most every team in the league needs one more of those.

Trading those first round pick unprotected would probably come back to haunt LA but I think they would do it. I think it’s a pretty realistic trade

If I’m the lakers I’d prefer DLo and a 1st to Sexton. Utah would probably just do Vincent and an unprotected 1st for Kessler and you could save money. If not you could just do Reddish and a 1st

Yeesh. I understand the Lakers may be desperate, but 2 unprotected for decent but not great upgrades is very questionable.

Won't happen. Ainge isn't giving up Kessler for a protected 1st and a bad contract. It has to be a real 1st or he likely doesn't get moved. Knicks apparently already tried to deal 2 highly protected FRP's and got rejected. Jazz already own Lakers '27 FRP although it's top 4 protected. Lakers would likely need to unprotect that '27 pick in order to do business with Ainge for the '29 FRP.
Jazz also cannot take back all that salary as most of their capspace will be needed for the Lauri renegotiation/extension.
As an expiring contract DLo likely getting traded by the deadline since his main skill set, shooting 3's, is now duplicated by Knecht.

This. This isn't a situation where four quarters equals a whole dollar. This is about 50 cents and asking for a dollar and a dime. Neither Kessler nor Sexton are overly valuable on their own, and you can't put them together and assume that you get to knock down the protection. I could see something like top 1 protected plus a pick swap, but that's about it. If Sexton and Kessler's market are as strong as the Jazz think they are, then they should have no issues finding a quality return for them.

Well it's 1 unprotected FRP and then unprotecting an existing top 4 protection on an FRP given to the jazz by Lakers already.

Well Lakers are giving up 1 unprotected FRp and then lower protection of a top 4 protected pick to bring unprotected.
Lakers get Sexton, GTJ, Kessler as outcome of this.
3 guys that are still young and can contribute for another 5 years.

Re: Lakers-Jazz
I would do this too.
Only 1 thing I would ask or add is for the Jazz to take in Christian Wood or Jaxson Hayes (either would be fine) and I am willing to shell out 1 2nd round pick for that.
