I think this draft is going end up being a lot stronger than people thought. Sarr moves and shoots like a guard and is 7 feet tall. Covers ground patrolling the middle like Adebayo on defense. His length is amazing, and he can really move his feet to get a close out. He's going to be an elite defender in this league. His footwork and movement is so fluid for his size. Sheppard showed a lot of ability tonight to create space off the dribble and really made it look too easy. His range is ridiculous, and he has no fear. He's going to be a killer you can already tell. Risacher is probably the most NBA ready and looked solid. Great left hand, and you can tell the game comes to him. Very mature player with a high basketball IQ. Quite of number players have looked promising so far.

Ya, I have no idea why people thought Sarr was going to bust. His defense alone will keep him in the league for a while.

From his highlights he looked extremely raw, and offense didn't look impressive. So, it's understandable. He could turn out to be a poor man's KG.

The worry was his motor and drive. No one doubted talent and athletic ability, but a lot of Ayton comparisons have been made.

Nah. Nicknames based on other players are never good, except as jokes, like "Meth Curry" for Tyler Johnson. How about another "The __________ Mamba"? FOH.

For Sheppard, I could get behind IRS or Taxman (his full name is Isaiah Reed Sheppard).

Yeah, it's bad. Too illicit-drug-related for such an apparently clean-cut guy. Also, he has a ways to go before I'd even call him "Discount Curry" (a la Sengun and Jokic), much less Cocaine Curry. And yes, nicknames based on other players are lame.

If he's actually a career 45%+ shooter from three as it appears he may be, then IRS might work in reference to the "death and taxes" phrase; as in, if it goes up, it's going in. It could also relate to his game being kind of fundamental, "boring," below the rim/maybe not even at the rim. Like an accountant. Or his ability to rack up numbers. Like an accountant. IRS feels pretty easy unless something better comes along.

I'm not opposed to skin-color based nicknames, but they have to be perfect, and Cocaine Curry isn't even remotely close.

If he's really as Kentucky as his mom and dad are, then something to do with that would be awesome. (The state, not necessarily the school.)

For some reason, i would love calling him accountant    I don't know why, maybe because they made a movie called Accountant, where Ben Affleck shoots people? I dont even know, never seen the movie, but poster suggested hes accountant who shoots people... wtf am i talking about?

Yeah, Accountant works for me.

Too long. Also, it's so specific that he would have to be really, really boring and average like 20-5-5 to make it work. I don't see that happening.

Is he even good at math?

We need time to know someone before we nickname them.

I studdied accounting, and I am not even that good at math at all lol. Now its easy, you just need patience and worksheet skills, pretty mundane job. I mentioned our 6'5 female accountant, she would just sit in her tiny room all day, it looked boring, but I would take it myself, I like solitude, though my ex job was far more interesting, break up was real bad though...

Bronny needs a chip on his shoulder. Even a guy like Curry, who grew up wealthy with an NBA father, had a chip on his shoulder because he didn’t go to a big name school and there were lots of doubts about his size, strength, and athleticism, so he came in with an underdog mentality and something to prove.

If curry came into the league with any mentality other than that one, he would’ve washed out quickly.

When James said Bronny is better than some current nba players last year who in the world was he talking about? Dont think i have seen a player as bad as Bronny play in a regular season game.

It's really less about him being "bad" than the fact that he clearly is very inexperienced and in over his head. I don't think Bronny was prepared for how good these guys were going to be. Last night was actually his best game because he was more assertive. If he hits a few of those 3's, it's a totally different conversation. The shot not falling is somewhat concerning, but it's just a small sample size. Also, it is 100 percent proven that player can get better at 3's. It's more concerning when a player won't pick his spots in a game. That means he doesn't know what to do in a given situation. Deferring all the time is not always a sign of unselfish a player. A lot of times it just means the player is overwhelmed. At least he got his shot off last night, and he needs to continue to be aggressive.

The big difference between Curry and Bronny is that Curry actually had something to work with: Great Ball-handler, great shooter and averaged 25 PPG in college.

Bronny cannot dribble, isn’t a good shooter and averaged 4 ppg in college. Not a whole lot to work with there and no amount of chips on his shoulder is going to make him an NBA player.

He can be a Josh Okogie type player with just good defense and hustling.

True.

I should qualify:
With a chip on his shoulder, Bronny has a little bit of hope.
With no chip on his shoulder, he has no hope.

I wish the Hawk could trade Trae to the SA for their pick backs and they could just rebuild around Zacharie.

Okogie had much better measurements and was still a much better scorer in college, though. The idea behind taking Okogie as someone to aspire to is the right one but make no mistake: it's still an uphill battle for Bronny James.
