Re: OT: Trump shot at Rally.
I don't support any form of shooting or violence. However, I must say that this is not a surprise.
The political temperature has been rising for several years now. It's more of an "us vs them" environment today than simple politics. Certain "politicians" have revved up the mood and played politics like it's a game. The talk has been heated and instigating. I'm surprised more violence hasn't happened -- but, this pretty much confirms more violence is on the way.

You talk crazy, calling for Latinos to be deported, nationwide abortion bans, stripping civil rights protection and all that other fascist Project 2025 sh*t and guess what? You open up the door for extremists, regardless of political affiliation to come out the woodwork. This isn't new. We aren't far removed from when political killings were happening in this country
I don't feel sorry for him, this is what happens when you embrace extremism and stoke hatred. You had some dude from the Heritage Foundation making a speech about a bloodless coup like last week. Jan. 6th. What did anyone think was going to happen? There are guns and mentally ill people everywhere in this country.
You think Republicans would've learned when Steve Scalise got gunned down by some nutter with an SKS...this is a two way street.
I love this country but this isn't sustainable.
England just reversed 15 years of Toryism and France shocked everyone after Macron's ill-advised snap elections when the center and the left united to turn back the LePen faction.
You're correct. It is not sustainable, which is why we've got to grit it out for this election. I don't know how a 20 year old American can see what is happening and not be scared to death for their futures. And the GOP is not working to leave behind a world for them. There are right wing kids, but less, so my hope is we can survive this like the UK did and turn the corner.
And as far as the shooting today goes, it will turn off as many people towards guns as it will embolden the nutters. It's just another instance of guns turning our social spaces into fear zones and many people are fed up over that. Thanks to Scotus for returning bump stocks to the mix so we can have more Vegas style massacres.

Every Trump voter just went from 60 to 100 and they are going to open their bank accounts up wider than lauren boberts grip at a beetlejuice show. Their ground game will see an uptick and the rallies will be frothing.
Chris Rock was awesome. The slap gave him a new life.
How on earth does already being a Trump supporter slobbering over a shooter generate more votes for Trump?
This is not what generates sympathy for Trump among swing voters. They're not buying tickets to a Chris Rock show, they're voting in an election. Celebrity getting Trump this far doesn't suddenly morph into empathy because of a shooter. Trump is the nastiest POS in the world and that's why his supporters love him. He doesn't suddenly become a person worthy of empathy because of a bloody ear. And only suckers think getting shot at means he's somehow fighting the powers that be. That deep state crap is for the dummies.
Not deep state, just human reactions. There are people who are going to see Biden as frail and weak and Trump as strong "just survived a bullet" and some people will think that matters.
Also there are still people who knock on doors, make cold calls, and do things at a local level. The more of his activists participate, the more people who will make a human to human contact with an undecided voter.

Also, the Secret Service has needed to have a thorough legal colonoscopy since Jan 6th and Merrick Garland refused.
There needs to be a thorough explanation as to why the location surrounding that event wasn't cleared.

He was heavily favored already, not by anything he said but by Biden's failings, which I do not know how the Democrats did not see coming. That being said, there are still Republicans who would have sat on their asses instead of bothering to vote, I think we are at about 60-70% overall turnout. I believe a significant % of those people will get out to vote, and this will also be galvanizing for the republicans in terms of the independent voters and who they will support.
Next is for the Dems to desperately try and label this as a setup, they will fail.
You are correct, this is not sustainable. My hope is for Trumps victory to lead to change within the Democratic party, let them get a real candidate to the stage.

Where is that proof? If you guys actually bother watching the entire video instead of just listening to what the media tells you you would see it. He actually told the people (it’s on video) to protest peacefully. But the media cut that part out when they broadcast it. You guys are such a bunch of tools, honestly.
Trump has literally been federally indicted for planning and attempting an insurrection in an attempted coup against the United States.
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-indictments-details-guide-charges-trial-dates-people-case/Trump is accused of participating in a scheme to interfere with the peaceful transfer of power after he lost the 2020 election to now-President Joe Biden. The indictment accuses Trump and six unindicted, unnamed co-conspirators of knowingly spreading lies that there was widespread "fraud in the election and that he had actually won," ultimately leading to the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol. Trump denies wrongdoing.
This is what you support?
As compared to what Biden and the Democrats have been doing? Yeah I d rather Trump. Biden has been running this country into the ground. What is it that you’re missing? You want to be in a country that’s being run into the ground?

Funny, but true. Being for or against Israel or Palestine no longer guarantees an actual bias since it is often purely a political stance. Some of the biggest anti-semites will staunchly back Israel if it gets them re-elected.

Trump is mainly responsible for fomenting this. Reap what you sow.
And what did he do to be responsible for getting shot at? This should be good.
Putting a supreme court in place that would veto state restrictions on gun ownership/concealed carry law.
Inaction against current gun ownership loopholes like the gun show exceptions...

Yeah this is not good for multiple reasons.
I'll be interested to see the mental gymnastics being used this week by Republicans when a Democrat in Congress calls for strict gun control measures.

The Trump campaign has no field offices or funds allocated to those operations. All of the money has been funneled back to Trump to pay his bills. The democrats have a network the GOP presently does not. Many of the GOP's state operations are completely broke.

Absolutely. It’s actually mind numbing that people are upset that he wasnt killed. It’s insane. As far as surprised? Not at all. I’ve been saying that the Democrats last ditch effort is to try and assassinate Trump. Prior to the liberals attempts to gaslight America with Bidens mental state blew up in their face they had hope that they could still pull this out (between left controlled media spin and various forms of voter fraud). But now where even CNN and MSNBC are turning on Biden and the democrats realize that they are in a bind (they cannot force Biden out) their last option to avoid Trump being elected is to assassinate him. It’s logical.

I’ve already said that o believe the “insurrection” was instigated by Pelosi…so please keep up lol. If you actually took your liberal hat off and try to look at this objectively you may actually see it. So no I don’t support violence at all. If I believed based on objectivity that Trump told the protestors to storm and tear it down then absolutely I would not support that. And I thought he did. But if again you actually bother trying to look into this objectively you’d see he did not.
But ok…you must support violence cause you actually want Trump to be shot at and murdered? Is that what you’re saying? Think about it. You’re upset cause a man wasn’t killed?
