If we can talk about a prospect other than Bronny....... very solid 1st game for Buzelis. Showed multiple skills and gave me a little wood for sure! He does need to improve his range though. His 3pt shot is ugly and he air mailed 2 of them.

Did he really play well? I just woke up to check the boxscore, and it looked not that great. If one or two 3s hit, it would have looked different.

I do not think I am biased saying Buzelis is great get at 11, crazy good value pick. His floor is low, but his ceiling is high, not many players with higher ceiling than Matas, IMO. That French kid Charlotte took is easily the highest upside guy, but other than that, in this dtaft, I honestly, maybe would take Buzelis over Risacher. Risachet is undoubtfully far safer pick, but I do not believe in huge upside there.

Rubstavicius also missed all 4 threes from GSW bench, so thats the story for Lithuanians in Summer league this previous night - can't shoot.

Sun yue ? :dontknow:

Johnny Davis (WAS).

What happened to him? I think he was 9th. pick, am I correct? Guy must have had something going on for him. Busts happen, but Davis is like ultra bust at this point.

He looked very fluid and had some good moves to the basket. Even made a couple great dishes! His 3 ball was bad no denying that. Air balled 2 of them

First Klingon in human league, Jackie Robinson of our times. Sorry, bad joke, never forget Jackie Robinson!

Honestly, in this draft, I would gave take Clingan number one. But not going to lie, Hibbert comp few comments back, scared me. I hated Roy Hibbert, I think he might be most overrated player i have ever seen in the NBA, ever. Roys biggest problem tho was just how inept he was offensively, brutal touch and his good looking hooks that missed 82% of the time, and Zach Lowe telling me he is MVP candidate, man I hated that guys hype.

Clingan just needs to be good finisher and hes better than Hibbert.

One difference is that Hibbert came into the league as an old school center and, at some point, the league changed.

Clingan is coming into the NBA knowing what the current center position is like.

I have said this on Bulls board, but my only worry is Giddey fit. I like both guys, but one of them better learn how to shoot, cause that fit is going to be stupid. Buzelis did have some playmaking abilities, I am high on him overall, just learn to shoot and get stronger.

Yeah, I just didn't like Hibbert even in his prime, because he was so trash inefficient. He didn't have NBA level touch around the rim, but its such a gimmie skill in the NBA, people didn't even seem to notice guy in a league could not have it. Go to his basketball reference page and look up his prime seasons, guy was pathetic. Not to get too nerdy, but I think at least two times he made all star teams, his TS% was below 50! Can you fathom how bad you must be to have TS% below 50, as center who doesn't even shooter jumpers...?

He had one thing going on, he was great against Bosh, that man could not box out Hibbert at all. So Hibbert would always finish the season with barely more points than shot attempts... as 7'2 center... but he would meat the HEAT and dominate in that one series, and people who only watch play offs, would call him stealth superstar.

I think defensively, Hibbert could still work somewhat, but his offense was too terrible and at one point people figured that out. His touch was Fab Melo-ish, seriously.

We obviously care most about the draft picks, but wouldn’t mind if they just had extra games to give the guys trying to make it a chance.

It would probably just water down the overall level of play, because teams would need bigger rosters, otherwise the risk of injury increases significantly.

Also, how many players didn't make the NBA because they weren't given a fair shot at summer league?

I think it definitely happens. A lot of these guys get very little burn if any. And sometimes I will see a familiar name in Summer league, and he can be good player, maybe not NBA good, but a good player for Summer league, and he spends entire week not playing at all. These teams always focus on their picks and youngest guys, which is understandable, but we have seen a bit older, overseas proven guys on these teams sometimes, and its fools gold for them, they will just not be in action at all.

G league is the only real way to get in a league for these type of players, if they really want to. If guy like Wade Baldwin or Will Clyburn were in G league, they would get call ups constantly. Different question, would they have developed the same? Wade Baldwin is 10 times better now when the first time he arrived to Europe.

True. But it's not the best platform for older players, also because, even if they perform well, it's somewhat meaningless precisely due to the low level of overall play. It's like being a bonafide scorer in the G-League.

I want to see IRS shoot from the logo at least 5 times this game. Remember that he was a 70% true shooter in college being forced to come off the bench.

If a player can shoot 38% from the logo, it's over for the NBA.

The stuff Stephon Castle is doing out there is 100% translatable to the NBA game. Just needs to learn the nuances and hone his skillset, but a 10+ year career awaits.
