Nothing I saw gave me any indication that any of these kids are helping us win a championship this season, and that's to be expected. AJ and Tyler could be guys in the next couple years, I guess.

I really don't care what someone's assist to turnover ratio is in SL games unless the turnovers are just god awful. They are basically pickup games played by a bunch of kids who don't know which end is up.

yes, we are looking for flash. flash of athleticism. flash of particular skills. flash of some kind of nba level talent.

i didn't watch the game, so which of these boxes did AJ check today do you all think?

Very good ball handling skill with exceptional speed and quickness especially for a player who’s 6’4 with long arms.

I don't have anything specific to point to and, y'know, consider my general posting, but AJJJ is not plagued by indecision. Combine that with his afterburners, might-could be something there. Wouldn't surprise me if he gets Winged Lactose-level minutes this year simply as a change-of-pace, microwave energy guy. Absolutely plays at a different sort of speed and that's where the excitement lies. Horts!

interesting. Andre is similar to this, although the two have some very different skillsets. but the similarities that they share are things that we desperately need. talm bout athleticism here, boys.

Have to imagine that these next couple of games will determine what Horst, Doc, and co. think about how these young guys fit into this roster. For guys like MarJon or Livingston, I think they’re potentially on the chopping block in terms of moving on and maybe attaching them to Pat or giving them to a rebuilding team to open up a roster spot or two.

Game 1 certainly didn’t help MarJon’s case too much. Showed flashes but that’s all they were. Like last year, he has terrific quarters of good play but the rest of the game is lackluster. I just don’t think he sees the game correctly. Each possession with him is a coin toss.

Livingston has some tools and he could maybe add something to our roster one day. I just struggle to think that Doc would play him at all this next season. I hope I’m wrong.

IMO the only young guy Doc would comfortably play in a rotation is Green. Obviously I don’t know what’s happening beyond the scenes but when you’re rostering 6 young guys and are waiting on 5 of them to hit, that’s a bit of an issue for a contending team.

Game 1 overreaction is complete. Hopefully Game 2 tomorrow yields better results.

i'd be very surprised if these games will factor into major decision making. we have preseason and then a multitude of early season games that will be better for that purpose.

Ryan Rollins was impressive.. Seems short for a shooting guard but he's much better than Marjon.

This like 90%+ of rookies though isn’t it? I can’t remember the last time a rookie played a significant role on a title winner.

He did say "and that's to be expected."

Significant role? No. But a role? Yes. Christian Braun.

Sure, if the purpose is to win the SL championship. But it's not. The purpose is to get an early guage on our guys (AJJ, MBJ, Livingston, Smith, Rollins). There aren't any centers out there who could make the team.

There's a bunch of young centers available for 2 way contracts. Galloway showed last year he's not even ready for the G League. He can be replaced by Orlando Robinson, JT Thor, Olivier Sarr or the other dude I've previously mentioned, can't think of the name right now.

Replacing Galloway makes sense.

Liking what Rollins & Umude bring. Rollins may be our best smaller defender.

Expecting one of the two to take Beauchamps spot.

Marjon isn't going anywhere. Rollins remains intriguing, but needs to be playing PG.

Hope we get to see more Rollins today. For being 6'4 though, he looks like he's 5'10 on the court. Very tiny but plays some pretty decent perimeter defense which always catches my eye. Just not sure he can guard up in size.

Interested to see who sits and who plays the B2B
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Both of our rookies clearly have talent, skill and a feel for the game that we haven't added via the draft in quite a while. They're 19 and paper thin so I'm not going to really critique defense and turnovers.

They look like they belong. That's a good start.
