Happy about Kolek. He really rounds out our backcourt perfectly
Just need some Center depth now and we're the deepest team in the league
Kolek was awesome, but of course it this is summer league and it was just 1 game... even if he shows out like a next Steve Nash in reg season, unless Deuce gets dealt, remains to be seen if he can steal some of playing time from Deuce under Thibs' consideration because Deuce is ALREADY a lockdown defender, who's not a stiff offensively... ability to not only knock down open shots but to create, be a threat on fastbreak, and also dribble, break down defenses, and finish around the rim.
Only clear advantage Kolek has over Deuce is passing... that's it. Deuce has everything else on Kolek.

When Kolek starts playing in a structured offense he is going to look even better. He also has that chip on his shoulder that makes me think NYC is for him.

Nice assessment. But I got a question, who caught that alley oop pass from Tyler Kolek yesterday ?

THe other advantage is that off the bench we need what Kolek has much more than we need what Deuce has. And if Deuce helps us fill another need - Another Center - he could be a goner.

One one hand, Utah may now want Kolek, perhaps even in addition to Deuce "yesterdays price is not todays price"
OTOH, Knicks may not want to part with a known quantity (Deuce) for a promising one.

There's zero chance Kolek will be going anywhere anytime soon. He answers a big need we had even more than Deuce does. If anything, Deuce is a trading chip. Kolek is a Knicks for the forseeable future.

If Ainge says "No Kolek, no center" then that's part of the price.
